***Due to the previous high bidder retracting their bid, we have had to relist this truck.*** Up for bid is a very rare and nice 1985 Toyota Turbo Diesel 4x4 longbed pickup. The turbo diesel was supposedly only imported in 1985 and was the last year of the straight axle. I purchased this truck from a friend's estate. He was an avid Toyota collector. He had owned the truck for 17 years and had started the restoration on it. The truck was originally green and he had repainted it red. As far as the condition of the truck before it was repainted, I can only tell you what I can see now. It appears that the cab and front end had very little or no rust. The bed appears to have had rust at the seams which is just starting to reappear. There are several minor bubbles in the paint, no holes whatsoever. You can see some rust from the underneath of the bed. The tailgate appears to have been close to new. The paint on the truck look exceptionally good with only minor chips. With the bedliner removed you can see the original green paint. The frame appears to have had some surface rust which looks like it was cleaned up and sprayed with some type of rustproofing. It appears to be solid. As far as mechanical condition, I have not driven the truck on the road because it isn't tagged. Although I did drive it around our parking lot. It starts and sounds perfect, it shifts good, the clutch feels good, and there are no noises. I changed the oil and fuel and air filters, installed a new exhaust which was with the truck when I got it. It looks like he had started to put factory AC in the truck. It has all the AC boxes with the heater core installed. It needs the AC lines, compressor and condensor. The interior of the truck looks very nice and clean. The carpet looks new. There are no rips, tears or wear. I do not know the actual mileage of the truck. The title shows 114k when he purchased it. The speedometer shows 67k. I assume he had replaced the speedometer. With that being said, I have watched these trucks for years and I have never seen one of these rare diesel trucks equipped this way. It has chrome bumpers and chrome grille, carpeted floor and carpeted door panels, AM / FM stereo. The steering wheel cover says SR5 Turbo. The truck is exceptionally clean under the hood, there is no rust at all. There is a small dent in the front valance and one in the core support and also a piece of the dash missing, all of these are shown in the pictures. If you are looking for one of these trucks, this is the one you want. Because of the year I am selling this truck stricly as is.
