1946 Cadillac Sedanette Here is your opportunity to own the first postwar Cadillac. The Club Coupe or Sedanette, is unique because the rear passenger windows roll down. It has the rare and desirable fastback style roof line. Only 2,323 where produced in 1946. This car will turn heads when you drive it down the road. Many things have been restored and upgraded on this Cadillac. The car’s body was very solid and rather straight before it was recently painted. The paint is a deep burgundy and looks beautiful and period correct. It was refinished in a base coat, clear coat and shines well. The interior has all been redone: reupholstered seats and door panels, new carpet and new headliner. The glass has all been replaced, windows go up and down smoothly. All the metal dash panels and top door panels were black powder coated for durability. The engine, transmission, drive line and rear end, were donated from a 1970 Cadillac Sedan deVille. The car was also upgraded with power steering. The front end suspension is still original and works fine. It has the ride of a car from 1946. The shift lever for the transmission is now on the floor. All dashboard components where not hooked back up when the car was converted to a 12 volt system. The ignition has been switched over from a push button to a standard key switch. All the lights work: headlights, tail lights, brake lights and turn signal lights. The trunk is all original and is not restored. The chrome has not been redone and is pitted. It is in fair condition for its age. The side chrome does have some rust holes on the underside. The floor pans and trunk pan are solid. Tires are in great shape and are a matching set. It by no means is a trailer queen or a 100 point car. I have taken this to local car shows and have had a great response to the car. I have enjoyed this vehicle but have lost the storage and it is time to pass it along. Overall it is a extremely solid, fun driver that I hate to see go.
