Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1955 Ford Thunderbird. Vin# P5FH195975 Body code 40A Color R Trim B and production code 2EHO711. This car I purchased from the estate of the previous owner in 2009. The car has a local history and the owners manual has been autographed by the last 4 owners which range from 1960 to present. Only the first owner is unknown. In the production code you will notice the letters HO which stands for home office. This car was sold probably to a Ford motor exec or employee or supplier when new. The owner prior to me owned the car from 1963 until his death in 2009. In 2003 the last owner had the car painted and brought it home to put it back together and never completely finished before he passed. After I purchased the car I took it to Sweitzer's Performance Center and had the paint buffed out. We repainted the stock rims. We bought a pair of skirts with original trim and painted them to match. The bumpers had been rechromed so I replaced the hood and deck emblems and side view mirror. I purchased a 56 hardtop and had it painted white and replaced the port hole window trim and rear rubber window seal. It has a new exhaust, gas tank, rear leaf springs, air breather cover, new battery, new script Firestone wide whites as well as rocker sill plates and Thunderbird floor mats. The hubcap centers are also new. The paint is very nice (not concours). The interior is original but very clean except for a tear in the seam on the drivers side of the seat. Soft top is very nice, yes both tops. This car has power steering, power brakes, power windows and power seat. It was converted to 12 volt before I got the car for easy starts and better lighting for night driving. The under side of the car is painted black and is very nice, not big globes of undercoating. This Thunderbird has great curb appeal and is always a hit at car shows. Everything works on the car except, the clock and radio are disconnected due to 6 to 12 volt conversion and the drivers door window switch might be going bad because it works one time then does not the next, something for the new owner to fix. Glass is nice and engine and trunk are detailed. I have several pictures of the car taken in the early 60's which go with the car. If you are the winning bidder a deposit of $1000.00 via paypal is due at auction close with the balance due in 3 days of auction close by cash in person or wire transfer, NO EXCEPTIONS !!!!! The car is available for inspection during the auction, not afterwards. You bidding to buy, not come look. Please ask questions if needed and I would certainly recommend you come see the car in person. This car is sold with no returns or refunds, and as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pick up with in 7 to 10 days of auction close. You may contact me at 419-569-3361 any time or thru ebay channels. The car is in Bucyrus, Ohio. Thank you for looking. Would consider a 1958 Edsel wagon for trade either partial or even considering condition.NOTE: THIS VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND THRU OTHER LISTINGS. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE THIS AUCTION FOR LOCAL SALE. 3 OF THE LAST 4 VEHICLES I HAVE LISTED ON EBAY HAVE SOLD EARLY. THANK YOU
