You are viewing a 1987 MERCEDES 560SL ROADSTER in a Silver Blue with blue-gray interior. Up front: This Mercedes is being sold AS IS without any reserve. I originally purchased this Used SL because I wanted to try this particular model. A very good friend of the family who is a long-time experienced Mercedes mechanic told me the 1987 560SL was one of the best SL’s ever made. Unfortunately, I Have always owned Corvettes and I'm stuck on their ride & drive. The Mercedes mechanic was right: The car runs & handles great. The HONEST mileage is approximately 130,000. We have not driven it even 2,000 miles since we bought it. This is an 8 Cylinder, automatic transmission, gasoline engine car. Two Tops: A hard Top which is painted the same color as the car body. Underneath, it has a dark sapphire blue convertible top in fair-good condition. The Blue convertible top has a several frayed spots. I drove it in the rain briefly and convertible the top did not leak. The exterior body paint is in pretty good condition for it’s 27 year age. The rims need polishing and the tires will soon need replacing. Some of the black rubber exterior parts are oxidized and need treating or possibly replacing. The brakes work well, but need adjustment because they squeak once in a awhile. Perhaps it just needs to be driven more. 3/20 =I just had the whole fuel system replaced & totally tweaked at a cost of $1,870. I also put new spark Plugs and wires in. A NEW Battery was installed in January 2014. The interior upholstery is in fair condition with a blems here and there (see Photo). It shows age but it will need covers or to be reupholstered in the future. It needs a good cleaning and detailing inside. The center console (see photo) has an insert that has heat/age cracks. In the same photo you can see where there is some holes (someone has previously installed & removed a radar detector or some stereo equipment) on the lower passenger side (where your legs go). There is a knob on the dashboard that needs to be replaced (see Photo). The carpet looks original and in good shape except in the trunk where someone put a leaking battery in it (see Photo) There are a few places inside that the carpet needs to be tucked in & the panels need to be tightened on them. In the rear, a small handy rear seat has been installed to match the existing interior exactly at a cost of $1,200. The Drivers visor hangs down and needs be fixed/replaced. The fan for the AC/Heater seems to only have 1-2 speeds, which may be a fuse. I could not get the cruise control to work…but I think it’s something minor or it’s me, the operator. There is a SONY 6-CD Changer in the Trunk, Recently the volume knob for the radio stopped functioning. This car has a security alarm that is alarming because I set it off and it took the manual to shut it off. Tricky. I think this would be a nice car if it was tweeked by someone handy. I have a clear NC title. I have been as honest as possible about this car & I tried not to leave anything pertinent out.. I have included many photos of everything I could.
