1967 Volvo 122S Coupe 2 owners from new M41 overdrive No Reserve Auction Up for bids is this terrific Volvo 122 coupe.  A Washington State car from new, it has had 2 owners, with the 2nd owner since 1987.  Not only is it in excellent running order, its sheet metal is 100% rust free and original, a West Coast survivor car that's been cared for from day one.  Click to enlarge any of the photos below, a link to a slideshow of all the enlarged images is available to view at the bottom of the page. The car has had one repaint in its original color of Dark Green, code 94.  This is a rare color to find on an Amazon and was only available from 1967-1970.  The paint on the car is just a tick below show quality, it has a few touched in chips on the leading edge of the hood but otherwise is very sharp.  The paint has excellent lustre and shine, application was excellent with no overspray, orange peel or runs, this is good quality paint.  The body on this 122 is very straight with no dents or areas of waviness, I have not detected any bondo anywhere on the body and the undercarriage is likewise solid and original.  I have inspected the car from top to bottom and have found zero rust issues, pretty remarkable for its age.  Panel fit is all good with consistent gaps.  Tires are classic Michelin XZX's with good tread and no sidewall checking. Both bumpers have been rechromed, they're straight and clean with no dents or dings. Trim is all nice as well.  All of the chrome on the car is in good shape with no pitting. The glass are all original Sunex pieces in great shape.  The windshield is a high quality replacement, it shows a little age but no damage. Lights and lenses are all in excellent condition.  The vintage WA plate is the one issued to the car in 1967, it will be included with the sale. Clean trunk area with a correct replacement mat and side panels.  The trunk exhibits no rust issues, one look under the parcel shelf and you can tell that this trunk was never wet.  Good handle assembly, lenses show the typical cracks but are hanging in there after 47 years.  The trunk carries the original jack and a partial tool kit. The tan interior completes this classic 122 color scheme.  The seats are in excellent condition, they're all original and looking great.  The car has a set of vintage Coco mats that are custom fit for this car, they're in great shape.  The rubber flooring beneath is all original with no areas of wear or cracking, some of the best originals that I've seen. Sill plates, door panels, hardware and weatherstripping are all good. Back seat area is in line with the rest of the interior, just very well preserved. Nice steering wheel with no cracks.  Ashtray is unused.  The heater and fan are very effective and will singe your socks in typical Swedish style.  Classic Bendix radio still works great.  Lights, signals, wipers and horn all work correctly. Good dash pad with no cracks.  All gauges work, the car shows consistent operating temperatures.  The ribbon speedometer was actually designed as a safety feature by Volvo; the more red you see the more caution you should exercise.  The car comes with an owner's manual, radio instruction manual, and a rare Volvo accessory brochure. Tight headliner with no punctures.  Underdash insulation is intact and complete. The car runs excellent.  A M41 overdrive transmission has been installed and transforms this Volvo into a freeway machine.  The car runs down the road with a nice tight suspension and a solid feeling, you'll definitely like the way this car drives. Clean and crisp details everywhere you look. The undercarriage shows an IPD swaybar front and rear.  Floorpans and rockers are all original and just as nice as you'd want to find them, a standout example of Volvo's venerable Amazon series.
