Up for auction from my personal collection is my 1973 Honda SL70 K1 in Candy Yellow. I purchased this original example sometime ago when originals were still readily available and then parked and stored it for quite some time (I did have it out and running 3-4 years ago). The frame number appearing on this SL70 is SL70-1114441 and the engine number appearing on this SL70 is SL70E-214623 making this a numbers matching correct original example. The odometer currently reads 4968 miles which I believe to be correct and the build date reads 6/72. This SL70 would be an excellent original example to begin a complete restoration with as it is mostly complete, correct and mostly in its factory original Honda condition and has a clear title. Original examples like this are becoming very difficult to find. I am convinced the new owner is going to be very happy with this SL70 K1 as they are very difficult to find in original restorable condition especially from a high quality, reputable collector. This SL70 would be the perfect starting point for a show quality or totally correct restoration or could be enjoyed as is with a few parts and some maintenance. I also do have a clear title for this example in my name as well. I also have another 1973 SL70 K1 listed this week in Candy Blue as well so please see my other items to purchase both. Cosmetically, this SL70 is very original and features the factory original Honda body work with original paint including the gas tank, front and rear fenders and a very nice condition original seat assembly. The gas tank is claen as new inside as well. The fork lowers are also original as well as the headlight bucket, straight handlebars and factory controls. The chrome on this bike is also in very presentable condition and the body work could be restored or used as is on this example. The exhaust pipe and guard are original and in usable condition for a driver. As you can see you will need to provide a side cover and front fender. Mechanically, I did have this SL70 running about 3-4 years ago and it has not been ran since and I have not tried to run it. It does turn over with good compression and I would recommend some general maintenance as specified by Honda if the new owner is going to use it as is without a restoration. Overall, this original SL70 would be the perfect candidate for a show quality restoration as it is mostly all there in original condition and most importantly has a clear title to go with it. As you know, it would be foolish to restore a SL70 to show quality condition without a clear title in hand first. This SL70 could also be enjoyed as is with some general maintenance/a few parts and would be an easy winter project.
