Vehicle Detail
Up for auction from my collection is my 1976 Honda CB750 K Four. I purchased this CB750 some time ago with the intent of doing a complete and show quality restoration while enjoying it as a rider in the mean time. I targeted this particular CB750 because I felt it would be a good restoration candidate and because of the fact it was in running condition when I purchased it. The frame number appearing on this CB750 is CB750-2570712 and the engine number is CB750E-2460235 making this a numbers matching correct original motorcycle. The odometer currently reads 21,392. The build date on the vin tag reads 2/76. I now realize I do not have the time to do all the restorations I had originally planned on or time to give this CB750 the attention it really deserves so I have decided to let it go to a new owner. I am convinced the new owner will have an excellent starting point for a show quality restoration or will have a nice CB750 to enjoy. Mechanically, this CB750 did run when parked last year and it was running and driving nicely at that time but the battery is currently dead and I would recommend some general maintenance if this CB750 is to be used as is. The engine turns over smoothly with good compression and the gear box appears to shift correctly as it did when it was running and driving. I believe this would be an excellent candidate for a restoration/nice driver as it appears to be mostly complete with the exception of a few parts that are missing in the pictures but are easily and readily available. When purchasing this CB750, it was running and driving but it has now sat for over a year not being run and currently is not turn key. Cosmetically, this CB750 shows some patina and the fuel tank does have some chips and dings/dents but is a restorable and usable fuel tank. The fuel tank is solid and would be an excellent fuel tank to repaint to show quality with some minor body work or enjoy as is in its original paint condition. The seat is the correct original and is in overall nice original condition and could be used as is on a driver. This CB750 sports period correct aftermarket exhaust which are both attractive and stylish. They appear to be overall very solid and in presentable condition. They could be used as is. The chrome on the rest of the CB750 is presentable and all the components could be used as is or re-chromed including the front and rear rims and the front and rear chrome fenders. The gauges are also originals. The original front and rear chrome fenders are in usable condition along with the chrome fork ears and headlight bucket. Electrical components including handlebar switches appear to be present and the handlebars are period correct aftermarket which are again stylish and attractive from the 70’s era. As you can see, higher performance rear shocks have been added and the side cover is missing with the right side cover having some scratched from age. It is overall a presentable CB750 as is. The CB750 models have always been a favorite of mine but unfortunately I do not have time to enjoy all the Japanese motorcycles I have accumulated over the years so it is time to let a few go and let you enjoy them as I have. I had originally planned to do a complete show quality restoration on this CB750 at some point as this is a very deserving candidate and use it as a driver in the meantime. I am convinced the new owner will have an outstanding starting point to do a complete or show quality restoration with or do some general maintanence and restoring on this particular example and enjoy it. It is very rare to find aCB750 offered for sale especially from a reliable collector with excellent feedback from selling New Old Stock parts and motorcycles from his collection.
