Start Slideshow Stop Slideshow Next Image Previous Image The Packard 180 was introduced for the 1940 model year (18th series) by the Packard Motor Car Company to replace the discontinued V12 as their top-of-the-line luxury model. The correct name of the model was Custom Super Eight One-Eighty. The car was derived from the Packard Super Eight One-Sixty with which it shared the complete running gear including the inline eight cylinder, 356-cubic-inch engine that developed 160 horsepower. It was advertised as the most powerful eight-cylinder engine offered by any automobile manufacturer in 1940. By contrast, the Cadillac 346 cubic inch V-8 developed 150 horsepower.Packards of all series (110, 120, 160, 180) shared similar body styling in 1940, which some later said led to a "cheapening" of the once-exclusive luxury marque, using the same bodies with hoods and front fenders of different length to meet their respective chassis. Thus the 160 and 180 got identical bodies. However, the 180s featured finer interior detailing with the best fabrics, leather and carpeting available. Packard used a special woolen ceiling in these cars only which was sewn longitudinally. Packard built the partition in its Limousines in a way that there was no hint of it when the partition glass was lowered, allowing the owner to use the car by himself as a sedan, thus the designation "Sedan Limousine" by Packard.MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the classic 1941 Packard Sedan you see pictured. Often referred to as the “Packard Limo,” this large sedan has plenty of room to get comfortable anywhere in the car. Equipped with the large 356 cubic inch Inline 8 cylinder, there’s plenty of get up and go with this classy sedan! Finished in black, this particular Packard has been repainted once, but it appears to have been repainted back in the time of lacquer automotive paint. The paint has many imperfections, which is typical of old lacquer style paint. This car is full of character and isn’t perfect, but the paint does show well. All of the chrome is in good shape, has brilliant shine, has only minor imperfections and shows well. Inside, you will find that the gray cloth interior looks great. The seats appear to be original or an older reupholstering. The seats show no notable wear or imperfections – they really look excellent to be 72 years old! The carpet, headliner and door panels also look great. The back seat is MASSIVE! You can really stretch your legs out and get comfortable in the Sedan Limousine! The original dashboard is finished in two tone brown and in great shape. Under the hood, you’ll find the large and powerful 356 cubic inch Inline 8 cylinder engine. The Packard took the cake as the most powerful eight cylinder of its time. Attached to the engine is an manual transmission. The Packard sits upon a set of red-lipped Packard 160 wheels wrapped in white wall tires, which look great!The VIN to the Packard is 14622453 and the mileage currently shows 20,046. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. All above terms and conditions are applied to vehicle sales, whether through Ebay or otherwise. Payment Terms Payment must be made by Cashiers Check, Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four(24)hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa or PayPal. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. If an inspection or decision takes longer then seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. These are not new cars and should not be treated as such. Once full payment has been received, Seller will fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via fax. The forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer Via overnight mail seven(7)days from date of final payment.
