Vehicle Detail
1969 Porsche 912 Coupe VIN 12902194 Engine 744845 Up for auction today is a great looking Porsche 912 LWB Coupe. 1969 was the last year of the long hood 912 cars and the only year of the long wheel base. This car is in very correct condition with all the original air cleaners, Fram oil filter and period upgraded exhaust system. We have checked this car over well, and did not find any rust issues. It does look like the front pan was recently replaced, done properly with the right parts. The interior is in great condition and has brand new carpet just installed. The door panels look great with rear pockets in good condition, but it is missing the front pockets. All the glass and seals are in good shape, and we have not seen any water leaks. The underside of the engine does have the usual minor seepage, but none that are an issue that would need to be taken care of for this to be a driver. The 5 speed transmission shifts very smooth up and down. By the looks of the transmission, it appears to have been rebuilt recently. This 912 starts up right away and idles smoothly without smoke, and has surprisingly good power going up through all the gears. We bought this car from a local collector that has had it for several years. We have a Oregon title for it from when it was last registered in 2004. The original color on the car was Polo Red 6802. The paint on the car is better than average, and has a great luster to it. Very few marks on the exterior, but with a car that is 44 years old, it does have a few imperfections. The underside of the front trunk looks great, and has fresh carpet. It does have a spare wheel and tire, but not tools or books. All the Deco strips are properly attached and look great, as well with the chrome window moldings. A drawback it has is an aftermarket radio and speakers installed, this does not make the car look period correct, but does sound good. The other interior drawback is that is has an aftermarket dash cover, and not the orginal dash. The wheels are 15” Fuchs with brand new tires. The brakes work great and stop true and straight. Here is an opportunity to have a early Porsche Long Nose Coupe without all the typical rust issues and a driver that is ready to enjoy the summer with. Driving this 912 has been pure pleasure from the good power of the motor and nimble handling. Early Long hood 911’s are going up in value faster than most other classics right now, and the 912’s are quickly following their 6 cylinder cousins. We sell many early Porsche’s and are happy to answer any questions you may have. You are also welcome to have it inspected. We also have lots of experience in shipping all over the world and are happy to assist in arranging transportation. We are selling this 912 NO Reserve, and plan to run the auction to completion.
