The Chevrolet Corvette (C3), or Corvette
Stingray, was a sports car produced by Chevrolet for 1968. Engines and
chassis components were mostly carried over from the previous generation, but
the body and interior were new.
Our 1968 convertible has 54,000 miles on the odometer but
only 2,500 miles on the 327/300 engine, rebuilt with a slight cam increase and
higher compression. The 4 speed manual has a new clutch. The car has drum
brakes and manual steering. The car starts and runs but needs a carburetor rebuild.
The headlight doors operate as do all of the gauges.
The red vinyl interior is in need of work. The steering
wheel is cracked, the carpet needs replacing and the console needs
refurbishing. The radio is a generic brand and does not function.
The windshield wiper cover door does not work. There is a
ding in the hood from a misplaced air cleaner stud. The paint at the base of
the windshield is chipped and there is a scrape on the trunk and a missing “T”
from the logo on the rear. The photos of the passenger door detail the damage
at the edge and the rubber seals need to be replaced on the windows.
It won’t take much to bring this car back to it’s classic
glory.

Our cars are not driven regularly but are
repositioned on our lot as needed. They are stored battery out, with fuel
stabilizer. Our cars start, run and drive, unless noted otherwise. This does
not mean they are ready for long trips. We recommend a full mechanical
inspection before taking them on the road.
We do our best to describe our vehicles accurately
and include numerous photographs but small defects don't always show in
pictures. Any known or visible defects at the time of listing
will be stated in the vehicle description. Classic and vintage vehicles usually
will require sorting out. Please do your research before bidding as all
of our cars are sold “as is”.
We welcome you having an independent inspection BEFORE
buying but not
after the auction closes. Inspection at the time of pick up and attempts
at subsequent renegotiation will not be permitted and will be cause for
forfeiture of the deposit.
All cars are sold “where is” from our location in
Culpeper VA. Transportation
is the responsibility of the buyer. We use Eclipse Auto
Transport for all of our transport needs and suggest you contact them at
800-496-0881 for a competitive quote. We DO NOT provide shipping estimates,
contact Eclipse or use the eBay resources.
A PayPal deposit of $500 is required 24
hours after the auction closes.
Payment in full is required in 3 days. You
must have PayPal and want to use it.
We will open unpaid claims with eBay if
PayPal deposits are not received on time.

There are many factors that affect the price we
set for our vehicles. Since we represent a collector and are not a traditional
dealership, we do not have the pressure of bank financing compelling us to sell
our vehicles at a certain price or by a certain date.
We frequently get calls requesting (sometimes
demanding) our “rock bottom” price.
We do not expect you to start the negotiation by
offering us the highest amount you are willing to pay. So, we do not start our
auctions by disclosing the lowest we are willing to accept. eBay has resolved
this problem by allowing us to confidentially provide them with the lowest
price we will accept (RESERVE). eBay allows you to confidentially provide the
highest amount you are willing to spend (MAXIMUM BID). By using the AUTOMATIC
BIDDING feature, eBay will bid for you in small increments ($25,50,100) keeping
you as the highest bid until you win, reach your maximum or the auction ends
with the car not sold.
Bill’s Auto Sales US will gladly discuss pricing
with serious buyers, meaning individuals that have placed a bid. We will
typically contact our bidder’s list first, if a car goes unsold.
