Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 1966 Mustang "A" code G.T. Fastback Project or Parts car. This listing is for U.S. BIDDERS ONLY !!!!!! I am a long time Mustang owner, collector, restorer. This is a rolling shell, with MASSIVE amounts of ROT. If someone were to attempt to restore this car they would basically need to weld in all new metal ( Frames, floors, cowls, Full quarters, wheelhouses, etc.,etc.etc.) It needs everything. I cannot list every piece that it needs, it is a bare rolling shell, If you see a part in the photos please assume it's bad and if you don't see a part in the photos please assume it's not there(there's no wiring,no interior, drivetrain, etc.) . I purchased this a while back thinking I would part it out or possibly restore it "One Day". I no longer have the Time, Space, or desire to do that so I am offering it up for sale, I am starting the bidding cheap with no reserve as It's time to move on. I bought this as a non rolling shell, I put a bare 8 inch rear housing and 5 lug axles out of another 66 to make it rollable (there is no center section or rear brake parts). The only numbers I can find on the car are on the door tag,They decode as follows (this was a pretty sweet car when new).I can not find any numbers under the hood,I fear they are lost to rust. Warranty Number: 6T09AYear:61966 Plant:TMetuchen, NJ Body Series:092+2 Fastback Engine:A289 4v V8 Unit: Miscellaneous Vehicle DataBody:63B2+2 Fastback, Pony Interior Color:TCandyapple Red Trim:66Black Crinkle Vinyl, Pony Interior Date:07 D.S.O:11Boston Axle:13.00:1, Conventional Trans:54-Speed Manual I know it's possible that the door was swapped but looking at photos # 5 & 6 ( dual exhaust reinforcements and foglight wiring holes in radiator support) tells me it was A G.T. This car appears to have been a shelby clone in it's past life as it has fiberglass: quarter scoops,"R" model valence and a lift off hood. I am including a new pair of full length floors for the car although if one were to restore it they would probably want to go with a 1 piece. The winner does not have to take the new floors if they don't want them, the original floors were cut out at some point. This car is located in NEW YORK Zip code 10547. This is a cash at pickup sale. I paid cash for the car I will not accept any form of check, wire transfer, electronic payment, etc. CASH ONLY. Winning bidder is responsible for transport, this car should be towed on a full trailer or better yet with a flatbed. This car is being sold "AS IS" "WHERE IS" . With a Bill of sale only This car has NO TITLE Ebay made me put an entry in the title section N.Y. Requires only a transferable registration which I DO NOT HAVE. If I had kept the car to restore I had planned on using a title service to register the car. The winning bidder will need to figure out what paper work is required by their state. I strongly suggest any potential bidders to email me with any questions or better yet come and view the car before bidding. I would like the car paid for and picked up within a reasonable time period after the auction has ended (approx. 7 days ) ,weekdays work best for pickup for me. If the car is not picked up within a timely fashion there will be storage charges of $100 per week unless the buyer and I have worked out a pickup arrangement beforehand.Sadly I have to write this because I had a car sell on ebay a while back and the buyer didn't pick it up for 2 MONTHS...... This car is being shown and advertised locally as well, so I do deserve the right to end the listing early.Fastbacks are only getting harder to find so don't miss out on a cheap project or parts car. Thanks for looking and good luck.On Apr-22-13 at 14:11:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I've received a few emails regarding the under hood VIN #.So, I took some time today and using paint stripper and a non wire brush (so as not to scratch the metal) I was able to uncover a Vin on the rear Drivers fender apron. The Vin number I found matches the one on the door tag. The front drivers apron where the vin is normally, is flat . I looked closer and it appears this piece was changed at some point as the welds on it are not factory and the bottom portion is loose which leads me to believe it was not fully welded in when it was replaced. I've added two photos of these findings to the listing, Please view them and email me with any and all questions. Thanks On Apr-24-13 at 05:25:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I've received some emails about ending the listing early and selling the car outright . I had planned on advertising the car locally, I did not get around to doing that. At this point I am going to let the auction run it's course. This car will go to the highest bidder. Thanks and good luck.
