Vehicle Detail

I am offering for sale a 1956 Triumph `TRW` 500 cc twin side valve hardtail military bike. It is a project bike, and is only loosely assembled for the pictures. The engine turns over free and smoothly with good compression. I was told by the previous owner that it was rebuilt years ago, sealed up and never run. The transmission and the wheels also turn freely. The frame components are straight, the engine and trans show no damage, the fenders and tank are slightly dinged up but solid and very restorable. The headlight nacelle and fork shrouds are in very good condition. There is a large percentage of the bike here, but some components are missing such as the outer primary cover, front footrests, toolbox, battery box and strap, speedometer, chain guard, nacelle trim, one of the two pannier frames, and one front fork damper. These parts are available for someone determined to restore this bike, and I have already sourced some of the within a couple of hours drive in Florida. I did find the handlebar with throttle but it is pitted up and possibly slightly bent. The Solex carburetor looks complete and should function with a good cleaning and rebuild. The BTH magneto appears complete and turns over freely with the engine although I have not checked it for spark. The bike has a restored value of 6 to 10 thousand depending on the level of restoration, or build it as a custom bobber! You can call me at 386 427 9081 for any questions, more information, or to view the bike in Edgewater Fl.. I can also provide documentation which will be sufficient to apply for a Florida title for the bike, and I may be able to help with delivery in the southeast U.S. for a modest fee. I would rather sell the bike to a person with the intent of restoring it rather than break it up for parts. I am approaching 65 years old, and have over 50 British bike projects in my inventory, so at this point I need to choose my battles, and liquidate a few bikes which I will probably never get to. cheers,Bob
