Selling a very hard to find 1979 Chrysler 300 powered by 360 V8. This is the last of the high performance personal luxury coupes. A very limited production vehicle. This vehicle came out at the time of Chryslers Collapse. Gas prices rising and the economy down turning. Chrysler turned to Lee Iacocco to rescue the Company. Typical Iacocco style he worked hard and took risks for the Company. When everyone was looking for economy Lee tried to beat the odds. The 1979 Chrysler 300 is a part of History. Lee scavenged thru Chrysler and found many extra Police Interceptor parts and decided to build a high performance personal luxury car. A SS platform used for the Cordoba was used. Chrysler decided to build very few of these vehicles. Aprox 3800 were built. Due to economy and fuel prices many stayed on the dealer lots way into the 80's. An era of Big Inch V8 muscle cars came to an end with this vehicle. 360 V8 with 195hp and mounds of torque. 3:23 Rear end did make this a gas thirsty vehicle but it sure is fun to drive. Huge Power!!! Most of all these vehicles were ew-1 Spinacker white. The 300 was the most badged car is history with 14 (300) emblems. The 300 package came with red white & blue pinstripes, 1/4 window etching, special handling sport suspension, 3:23 rear end gears, heavy duty torqueflite transmisson, corinthian leather, console, leather wrapped steering wheel, factory gauges, tach, and special marque 7"x 15" aluminum wheels. This vehicle was coded A74 for the RPO. An affordable vintage muscle car that is as rare as they come. I assure you, that you will be the only one on cruise nite. This vehicle has not yet peaked in value. A great collectible vehicle that will only go up in value. This vehicle has been stored most of it's life. I'm selling this for my friend who purchased from the original owner. Very,very low miles vehicle. This car has sat for most of it's life. A fun vehicle to ride & drive. Handles great and very fast!!! 360V8 hooked up with a 3:23 rear end provides plenty of excitement. An unmolested vehicle that is an real eye catcher. Factory pinstripes are awesome. The originality of this vehicle is what really sets this vehicle apart from other vintage cars on the market today. A low production vehicle with true original miles, clean body, nice interior and being a great runner makes for the perfect collectible car. A very clean & solid body with the exception of a couple spots starting to bleed thru. Not bad considering this is an original vehicle that is 34 years old. The drive train is all original and unmolested. The 360 V8 performs great. The automatic trans is a factory built heavy duty trans that is part of the 300 package. The trans shifts firm as it was intended to transfering the huge power to the rear end. Engine compartment is clean. The interior is all red corinthian leather. The back seat looks like new. the front seats do show their wear & tear. Could use a little dye but wanted to keep vehicle 100% original. The lay out of the interior is awesome. Luxury leather with bucket seats, and a cool performance look. If your in the market for a cool collectible vehicle look no further. You will be more than pleased.
