Vehicle Detail

1954 Packard Caribbean Convertible, only 400 were produced. This car is unrestored with 99,163 miles and needs total restoration. No Title but I will furnish a billof sale. There is no interior, it will need seats from a 2 door or convertible donor. The 359 cubic inch engine with Aluminum Head was the last and most powerful Packard Straight 8. I have owned the car for several years and have not tried to turn it over. The expensive Caribbean bodies were custom built by Mitchell-Bentley. The body has some rust but the repairs are basic. On the driver's side, the rear quarter needs a patch panel. I believe the driver's side rocker can be repaired. On the passenger side, the rocker box needs to be replaced, the panel from the rocker to the rear wheel needs a patch, and there are 2 more patch panels on that side. There is a hole in the rear floor and some smaller ones on the rear floor. Other than the passenger rocker area, the floor seems solid. The trunk has a few holes but not bad. The bottom of the trunk spare wheel well and the Continental well need patching. The driver's front fender has some old bond on it. That is the only area that has had body work. There is also a replacement fender that goes with it. The Caribbean door chrome trim needs chroming. The wheel lip moldings, drivers rocker molding may be able to be rechromed. The passenger rocker molding is not. It would be less expensive to find replacements. Also missing is the driver's side trim strip. Allparts not unique to the Caribbean are the same as Senior '54's and are readily available, many N.O.S. There is glass in all four hydraulic powered windows. That system will need rebuilding. It has 5 correct motor wheel wire wheels. The convertible top mechanism is complete, intact and retracts manually. It has ignition and trunk keys. This Caribbean has one of the best color combinations, Polaris Blue and Packard Ivory. Very Rare - only 400 built! Few cars are as rare, desireable, fun and have as much profit potential. Email with Serious inquiries. This vehicle has been in storage for many years but due to the recent damage of Hurricane Sandy, it now is out in the elements.
