Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE You’re looking at good friend of mine’s very rare and hard to find 1953 Dodge COE (cab over engine). He bought the truck 15 years ago. The truck originally came from Los Angeles and was being used at the Golden Creamery Dairy Company back in the day, which is still in business today. When the truck was being stripped for body work and paint he found the name of the dairy on the side of the door. He did get the original flathead 6 cylinder running, but it was tired, so he got rid of that and put in a mid-70’s (1973?) 413 cubic inch motor with a 727 automatic transmission with dual trans coolers. You could bring it back to original if you had the 6 cylinder and the bell housing. It has the original 2 speed rear end, original front axle with manual steering. It has power brakes (rebuilt booster) and stops great. New complete exhaust system with working 5-inch chrome stacks (sounds cool). New heavy duty battery and new bed-mounted tool box. The tires are in good condition. The paint work was done about 8 years ago and still looks really good. The pin-striping was done by Lyle Fisk. All the glass is good. The windows roll up and down great. The interior is done in cloth and vinyl, still looks good. The truck has new complete wiring converted to a 12 volt system. This would be great to use for advertising for your business, taking your hot rod or vintage bikes to a show or even for a parade truck. You won’t see another one like it! You see a lot of Fords and Chevrolets, but not a lot of Dodge trucks like this. He was building this truck to haul his 1931 Model A on the bed. Here are the measurements: The bed is 85 inches wide by 145 inches long With the chrome stacks on, it is 101 inches tall With the outside mirrors on, outside of mirror to outside of mirror is 103 inches wide with the mirrors off, it is 85 inches wide. The cab is 8 feet high with the chrome stacks off Outside of rear tire to outside of rear tire (which is the widest part of the truck) 89 1/2 inches wide Overall length of the truck is 19 1/2 feet long If you need more information (a walk around description) or more specific pictures, you can email me or call me, Mike, at (760) 519-3478. This vehicle is being sold as is with no implied warranty. If I have not had contact from the winning bidder within three days of the end of the auction, I will assume you are a non-paying bidder and will proceed through the ebay steps accordingly. Payment is to be paid in full within 7 business days of the end of the auction and pickup within 20 days of the end of the auction unless other arrangements are agreed upon. On Sep-13-12 at 10:48:16 PDT, seller added the following information: The truck registration is in non-op status. The GVW stamped on the door tag is 17,250 lbs
