Vehicle Detail
Here is a 1999 F350 that I bought in early 2005. It’s a one ton truck with a crew cab and single rear axle. It’s got a strong running gas powered V-10 and automatic transmission (4 speed). When I bought it the odometer showed 181,000 and it’s now around 270,000. No, that's not a mis-print. This is a high mileage truck and it still runs great. Since I’ve had the truck it has been well maintained. The motor oil was changed every 3000 miles and I just did it a few weeks ago. The tires and brakes are good. The AC blows super cold and the heat blows hot. All power windows and door locks work. It also has working cruise control, tilt wheel, tinted windows, power mirrors, 4 wheel disc brakes and a 4 speed automatic transmission. It seats 6, but the middle front seat folds down to make a pretty wide armrest. The truck has a class V receiver hitch and a 15,000 pound rated fifth wheel hitch. The fifth wheel hitch is included with the truck. I will also include a set of extended towing mirrors. It has a Prodigy trailer brake controller. I’ve also added a K&N cold air intake and filter system along with a Gibson cat-back exhaust to add some more power. The tires are BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A’s with a load rating of E (a must for heavy loads). I think the tires have about 20,000 miles on them and they look like they have about 50% tread left on them. The receipt/warranty for the tires and instructions for most of the other add-ons are in the glove box along with the original Ford owner’s manual. The local Ford dealer installed a genuine Ford remanufactured transmission, also about 20,000 miles ago. I’ve also had all 10 spark plugs and ignition coils replaced recently. The cooling system and transmission were both serviced within the last 10,000 miles. I put a new windshield on it in March. Sounds like a nice truck so far, right? Well, there are some negatives. First, this truck is 13 years old and has been used primarily as a camping vehicle so it’s not the prettiest. It has too many dings, scratches and other body imperfections to count. There is some paint peeling on the tailgate and maybe some other places. The interior is also not perfect. There are seat covers on the two front seats, but I think the only rip is one on the outer seam of the driver seat (about 4 inches long and could probably be fixed). The seats and carpet would probably look OK with a good detailing. The front bumper is pushed in and looks kinda beat up, but it’s functional and doesn’t affect anything other than looks. Finally, there has been a hole in the roof above the driver’s head since I bought it. It doesn’t go all the way through to the inside because the sheet metal happens to be double wall in the area where it’s at. I have it covered up with aluminum tape to keep rust out. Finally, the in-dash cup holder broke so I took it out. I still have the broken part if you want it. As mentioned, there are lots of cosmetic imperfections and I'm sure I haven't remembered them all. If you want to see the truck before you bid, that's fine, just let me know. Lastly, I do have the title in my name in my hand. The registration is good until June 30, 2013 and I had it smogged on June 28, 2012. The smog test is good for 90 days so if you register the truck right away you won't need another smog test. By the way, it passed the smog test just fine, it always has since I’ve had it. The truck is located in Simi Valley. I will not deliver the truck or ship it, whatever you do with it after you pay for it is your responsibility. I would like to be paid in cash at the time you pick up the truck and would like it to be picked up within seven days of the end of the auction. I just noticed that the EBAY vehicle report shows an accident reported on 2-14-06. I'm not sure if this is a mistake or if it was something that happened before I bought it and they got the date wrong. I haven't had any accidents with the truck since I bought the truck in January of 2005.
