Here a rare opportunity to own one of the last Scouts ever made. It was manufactured in June of 1980. It is an original Scout Terra with the Nissan Turbo Diesel. This is probably one of the nicest original Scout Terra Diesels around. It has been in sunny and dry Southern Oregon for as long as I can remember with the same owner from 1996. It starts on the first (or second) try every time, even after sitting for a week. That is pretty rare for a diesel. Recent maintenance includes new glow plugs, fresh oil change and filter, fuel filter, air filter, power steering lines, rear brake shoes, rear wheel cylinders, and front brake rotors and pads. You can get in this and drive it anywhere. I drive it almost every day. The tires have plenty of tread on them and probably have less than 5,000 miles on them. Size is LT215/75/R15 with Toyo Open Country on the front and Maxxis on the rear. They have almost identical tread patterns. The 1980 Scout was the only year that the Scout came with the Turbo Diesel. The little bit of extra power is nice--but you would never confuse it with fast. It does have a block heater, although I have not ever used it. It shifts nicely through all 4 gears and reverse. It is an older Scout with typical shakes and rattles. The best part on this Scout is that it is virtually rust free. There is some light surface rust in parts of the bed and a spot the size of the quarter near the driver side A pillar. The only other rust is where the fiberglass top attaches to the bed. Underneath it is is solid. The interior is in great shape. The bucket seats are nice. The seatbelts work. All gauges work except for the fuel gauge. It has an aftermarket oil pressure gauge in addition to the stock factory one. Both work. It has an aftermarket Audiovox (period-correct, I love it) that works most of the time with a pair of aftermarket speakers. The windshield has 5 rock chips in it--but it is clear. A new one is available for $180 installed. I can arrange for that at the buyer's cost if desired by the new owner. The exterior has typical scratches and rock chips. At some point the front grill was replaced with a round headlight grill out of a 1976 Scout. It has a Warn push bar bolted onto the front bumper. The paint is pretty solid and it actually waxes up pretty nice. The decals show their age with fading and cracking. I call it patina. The fiberglass top has never been off as far as I can tell. It seems solid, although could use fresh paint. The windshield wipers only work when they want to. A few of the side pieces of trim are off-but I still have them if you wanted to remount them. All lights work fine. I can help arrange shipping at the buyer's cost. The car is located in Southern Oregon on I-5. I will guaranty that if I arrange shipping it will not cost you any more than $300 to the states of Washington, Oregon, and California; $500 west of the Rockies; $800 west of the Mississippi; $1000 east of the Mississippi; and $1250 if your state touches the Atlantic Ocean. International bidder are own their own--but I can arrange at your cost to get it to a port. I personally collect cars and this Scout was a unique and enjoyable addition to my collection. It is time to let it go and let someone else drive and enjoy it. A $500 deposit via paypal (or cash/check via next day air) is required within 48 hours of the close of auction. The remainder of payment can be through paypal (add 3% for paypal fees), wire transfer, cash in person, or a personal check from Bank of America, US Bank, or Umpqua Bank.
