Vehicle Detail
1965 BUICK WILDCAT CONVERTIBLE 81000 Miles RUNS GREAT Wildcat 465 This car was originally purchased on August 12, 1965, and re-sold about one year later to the father of the current owner. The current owner took the car to college the following year, drove it for a few more years after college, and then placed it in storage. It has been stored in a shop/garage and driven very little since that time. It has 81,000 original miles. The engine and transmission are both original. The engine is a Wildcat 465 and sounds and drives like new. It is a real pleasure to drive. The car was recently thoroughly checked out and tuned by the local mechanic who has been the sole caretaker of this beautiful vehicle for many years. It has a new boot, 5 new tires, and a new battery, starter and muffler. The top was replaced a few years ago and looks new. The car is solid with no known rust defects. You will notice that on the back trunk area of the car on one side there is a strip where the paint finish is dulled/blotched. This appears to be the result of water dripping through the roof of the storage garage at some point in the past (see photos). It doesn't penetrate the paint all the way through. There are also a handful of small areas of crow's feet and finish chips in other places around the car which we have photographed extensively (see photos). The car looks great as-is and you only notice these flaws when inspecting closely but obviously a car of this vintage deserves a fresh, professional paint job. We will leave that to the new owner! The upholstery is in remarkably good condition with only one very small defect in the drivers seat (see photo). The top raises and lowers but needs a slight push each way, typical of many older convertible mechanisms. The small plastic covers in the center of each wheel are damaged and the guide on the front edge of the passenger side rear window is damaged and removed from the window. Again, see photos. The trunk is very clean with the original upholstery intact. The power antenna works, but the radio and clock do not. The air conditioning works fine but most likely needs freon (none has been added for years). This is a beautiful car with very low mileage for its 47 year age. Every effort has been made to photograph minor defects and to disclose the condition of the car in great detail. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. No Reserve!
