Vehicle Detail
Customer traded this in a few months back on a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Here's the story... Job Relocation forced him to shrink down. Went from a 3-Car Garage down to a 2-Car Garage and needed to get a good reliable fuel efficient vehicle. We had a '71 El Camino and several 3rd gen Camaro's and Trans Am's on the lot so he stopped in to ask if we would be interested in taking in his truck on trade. My General Manager and the Salesperson went to his house and we put the deal together. My GM put $19,000 in the trade with the idea that we'd sell it in the low 20's. Well, snow is going to fly soon and the Owner isn't going to let us keep it in our inventory until spring. I was told to put a NO RESERVE 7-Day auction on it and sell it to the highest bidder. I feel that the truck is worth close to $20,000 based on the amount of work that has been done. It drives out great, and it was built from the ground up. The Body was from either Alabama or Arkansas (can't remember) and was built on a '78 Camaro Chassis. Has only had about 300 miles put on it since the build! All original metal with the exception of the Roll Pan and the front bumper. The paint is probably a 7-8 out of 10. There's some sanding marks that can be seen in certain light, someone with a little knowledge and a buffer could really make this thing pop! Shaved door handles w/ remote poppers. The Engine is a 350 Chevy... Pretty mild, very streetable. I'd guess it to be around 250hp. Turbo 350 Transmission. Custom interior w/ bucket seats and center console, even put in Power Windows! Things that I would do if it were mine: Power Brakes. Why this wasn't done during the build baffles me, but maybe I'm just showing my age. The shift lever can make contact with the key in the ignition depending on where the tilt steering column is, also is a little loose. Little bit louder exhaust? Personal thing, but this guy is pretty quiet. Stereo... There is no stereo in the truck. Heat / Defrost... Again, nothing in the truck. Bid to win! I'll try to answer any questions I can. Feel free to call me @ 419-302-1691. Thanks, Tod On Nov-14-11 at 06:52:13 PST, seller added the following information: Several of you have asked me for Engine Pictures. Here's what I've learned. e-Bay will only allow me to put up 24 Pictures. The last 2 pictures I had were under the hood. You have to delete a pic to add a pic.... Only catch is that you can't delete anything after there has been a bid. So they told me I would have to end the auction and then re-start it. I'm not going to do that. Our website is my user name . com. Just click on Pre-Owned Inventory and all 26 pictures including the engine show up w/ no problem. Thats Tom Ahl Findlay Dot Com. I would've put up a link but e-Bay would probably delete it as well. I was also asked about any additional fees since we're a dealer. There is a $175.00 Dealer Documentation Fee that will be added to the winning bid and $15.00 Title Fee that will be added. I also can provide the winning bidder w/ a 30 Day Tag at a cost of $18.50 if needed. Also While I would have no issues at all driving this truck home... There is No Heat / Defrost of any kind, and its only been driven 287 miles. I'd hate to get the under side all nasty. I would really think about loading it on a trailer but if you want to chance it thats up to you.On Nov-18-11 at 21:35:40 PST, seller added the following information: OK everyone... We're on the home stretch. Please feel free to call me on my Cell Phone w/ any questions. Also we will be open Saturday from 9:00 to 3:00 if you're in the area and would like to drive take a closer look. I will also have access to our Service bay if you would like to inspect the underside before the auction end. Also... PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DON'T HAVE FUNDS, HAVEN'T ASKED YOUR WIFE, OR DON'T HAVE INTENTIONS OF PAYING. I'm biting the bullet on this truck and it will cost us around $6,000 if it doesn't get bid any higher than where it is right now. I'm ok with that as were are a Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep,... Buick, GMC,... and 2 Hyundai locations w/ 5 stores in 2 cities with a combined inventory of aprox. 1,000 New and Pre-Owned cars that averages between 400 - 500 retail sales per month. We've been in business for over 50 years so don't think this is some kind of Scam or "Too Good To Be True" situation. This car will be SOLD tomorrow around 3:30 Eastern to the highest bidder. Bid away and Good Luck! Thanks again! Tod Kitchen Used Car Manager / Internet Director 419-302-1691 Cell
