1987 Trans Am GTA Convertible and 1987 Trans Am Hard Top 5 Speed Back Surgery has me selling my project, as I will not have time for this, and I just dont feel good. So here goes my 2 1987 Trans Ams. I want to try to sell to someone as a package deal. 1st is a 1987 Trans Am GTA Convertible. 305 TPI. This is one of the 173 Trans Ams that was converted by ACH for GM. The car has had a light hit (as u can see in the photos) and I do mean light. Just what you see. Does not need a raditor support. Hood Left Front Fender, front bumper and cover...rear bumper cover The car has a little engine shake. Because of the surgery., I simply havent had the time to check it out. Check engine light comes on and then turns off... .no smoke...no funny engine noises....nothing. Starter rattles after she starts. A/C blows ice cold. Trans shifts perfectly and works as it should. Someone installed aftermarket exhaust. All windows and door locks work as they should. The top is really nice but does have a small 1 inch tear...and I mean small. I personally would not replace the top. Its still that nice!!! Interior is not perfect, but shows real nice. Leather has no tears. small chip in arm rest. Aftermarket steering wheel. Someone installed after market TV radio and alarm. Now here is the GREAT NEWS!! A Running Parts Car!!! 1 1987 Trans Am Hard Top 5 speed 305 TPI This car runs and drives perfectly. I would drive it to NY from here in Florida. Ice Cold a/c. High miles 173000. New front shocks, idler arm, Center Link, Mass air flow sensor, recent tune up, new muffler and pipes. This car was not molested at all. Engine is complete down to the last bolt. GTA wheels...ws6 suspension, with 4 wheel disc brakes. Power windows work fine. Door locks stuck. The interior is from a 1995 firebird. I have the original rear seats, but no fronts seats. All the body panels are in perfect condition. Front bumper has a 8" crack on passenger side. The paint is flaking off. Its has some rust on the roof. I was going to take apart the hardtop, and fix the convertible and build one SWEET RIDE. Every thing you need to finish the convertible is on the Hardtop...I mean everything!!! Then you get to sell the extra parts to make some extra cash (engine $400, 5 speed transmission set up (another $400), rear disc set up(another $400), the extra GTA wheel and tires (and another $400) etc. This is a win win situation for any one who wants a fantastic project and not spend a lot of cash.... OR, You can fix up both cars and get 2 SWEET Rides!!
