Up for auction is my 1978 Jeep CJ-5, it is very hard for me to let this Jeep go, I have owned this Jeep for the past 10 years and the prior owner is a friend of mine. I am a Jeep CJ guy and have owned many CJ's (check feedback) This is by far my favorite and most capable Jeep I have owned. Here are the Jeeps Features: Interior/Exterior: Fiberglass tub in good shape, no cracks or breaks, has some nicks. Fiberglass fenders and windshield frame, passenger side fender has been patched with fiberglass see pic. Steel hood and grille. Full Roll cage tied into the frame at four points with reinforcement cross bars front and rear (tub can still be removed if ever needed as roll cage unbolts from frame tie ins) Frame has been reinforced at front and rear spring perches, is very solid in near perfect condition with the exception of one body mount beginning to rust. Suspension is a 4wdhardware 4inch lift kit. The Jeep sits on like new 95% tread 15/35-15 LT Super Swamper TSL's and has a 4wdhardware full size swing out tire carrier. Equiped with a 9000 pound Warn winch. Intererior consists of newer high back bucket seats, tilt column, custom ammo can for center console with hinged flip up lid and cup holder great for storage. Drive Train: Jeep is powered by a great running 304 V8, no leaks or smoke, 40/50 pds of oil pressure, Headman headers and Headman sidepipes for that deep Jeep tone. New clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and pilot bushing installed last year. New radiator. Tranny is a true Jeep T-18 4 speed transmission with the granny low. Model 20 transfercase. Front axle is a completely rebuilt withing the past year Dana 30 with 4:10 gears and a detroit locker all new bearings seals and ball joints. Front end still being broke in, nice and tight. Rear axle is a Dana 44 with 4:10 gears and a Detroit locker with disc brakes New brake pads on front and rear. This Jeep has been tested on the trails approx 2-3 times per yr since i have owned it. Performes extremely well off road with the Granny low and Lockers combined with the power of the V8, the winch was rarely needed, however was a life saver when needed. On road it handeles like a 1978 Jeep CJ has some play in the steering and can be a handfull at times, takes some getting used too. Jeep is rarely driven outside of taking kids to ball practice and to the dairy queen from time to time. I will drive it to work when the weather is nice a few times a year which is 30 miles all highway, drives better on highway than back roads. All lights work, parking lights, headlights, tail lights, and brake lights, 1 spot light is burned out. Turn signals work, no back up lights. Some interior dash lights work some don't. Temp guage, oil pressure guage volt guage all work. Gas guage quit working in Oct when i changed the alternator, dont know what happened. Jeep comes with a bikini top and soft half doors. Things you may want to change or work at in time: Fuel guage not working, under dash wiring harness is a mess, cut and spliced, dash panel has some rust. Heater blower not hooked up but works. Passenger side fiberglass fender has a crack in it and was quick patched with fiberglass. Crack in windshield. Wiper moter not hooked up but works. Fuel tank leaks some out of the brather tube only when full. Not a daily driver. Again I hate to see this Jeep go as I really felt this would be the last CJ I have ever owned. If you are looking for a Jeep that can perform extremely well on the toughest trails and still cruise around town than this Jeep is for you.
