Vehicle Detail
This is not your average Ebay Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. This is a very very rare 1967 Mulliner Park Ward Coupe (later known as the Corniche), one of 75 handbuilt for 1967, 571 for the entire world total 4 year production. Extremely low mile car at 27,800 original miles. The previous owner was a prominent business owner, had it for over 2 decades and hardly drove it. These MPW's are miles ahead of the 4 door shadows and not only more pleasing to the eye but better functionality and reliability overall. A lot was spent restoring this beautiful car. First, there was a total repaint done by the best in the business, not because of rust but due to fading of the original paint. Kept in its original color (bronze), no expense was spared ($10K). This car never had any rust issue at all, which is rare. To give you an idea of how meticulous I am, the first photos of the car in a studio were taken before the repaint and new white wall tires. The ones that show the car in the streets are after the repaint, and it is a much nicer glossy finish. Now for the critical ones out there. This was NOT a rotisserie restoration, the car is not 100% concours ready. There are a few small cosmetic blemishes here and there as I use this car almost daily since the repaint and the inteior is not fully restored, however, it will win most car shows simply due to its rarity and appearance. All the lens were replaced ($800), chrome bumper ends refinished ($600), new door rubber, new badges, and all the woodwork was refinished by Madera Concepts, also the best in the industry ($1800). The interior is in excellent shape, the leather seats have a nice patina, no tears or damage anywhere. The carpets are also in excellent original condition, along with the headliner and sunvisors. Everything works as it should, power windows, AC, horn, all lights, etc. All gauges function properly as all other electronics. The engine was very well maintained, never missed an oil change and was always kept running at least weekly to insure reliability. I have taken several trips to Florida with this car and never had any problems. It has its usual small amount of leaks here and there as any other car this vintage, but I would not hesitate driving this car on a 1000 mile trip as if this was my modern Mercedes. These V8 Rolls Royce engine are nearly bulletproof and will go 300-400K miles as long as you do your regular maintenance like oil changes, etc. The only major maintenance these cars require are the brakes due to their weight. I would plan on a brake overhaul every 5 years as a general rule ($1500-2K). This car starts right up no matter the outside temperature, and once properly warmed up, it is as quiet as can be. It also drives very smooth like a Rolls Royce should. The white wall tires are brand new along with a brand new white wall spare in its compartment. The original tool tray above the battery compartment is like new, and the jack kit is complete and in mint condition as well. All books and original documents are also there along with spare keys and owner's manual. I even have the beautiful emergency window crank that is used in case of power failure (exclusive to this MPW coupe). This is a rare opportunity at a historical Rolls Royce that is not matched by any others of its vintage. I spent almost a year looking for the right coupe, and this one is probably the best known in existence today given its low mileage and cosmetic improvements. It was a pleasure owning this majestic car and now it is time to let someone else enjoy her as I have. This car has the million dollar look for the price of a new Honda. You owe it to yourself to own such a car, it will change your life. I have an appraisal for $65K that was done in 2003 before the restoration. This is a collector car, not a mass produced Silver Shadow. I suppose the buyer will be a collector looking to add to his collection, but I could be wrong. If you do the "Buy It Now" option I will also include a custom fitted car cover and a very rare vintage Rolls Royce picnic basket both valued at well over $1000. I can hold the car for a long period of time with a substantial deposit. I do drive it almost daily to keep it running well. Feel free to call with any questions (912) 353-9076, I have owned 8 Silver Shadows and I know them quite well, and I am also a long time RROC member. I welcome any PPI or I can help arrange for one locally for you. If you are unsure about what to expect when buying this car, I can also arrange a post inspection with a Rolls Royce mechanic and he can go over it with you. I would cover any issue if any as a gesture of good faith. The car is located in Savannah, GA. I can help assist with transport, or you can fly in and drive it home anywhere in the US. International buyers welcome. I have sold and shipped many cars overseas. Please no trades as I have no more garage space, which is the reason why I am selling this car.
