Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1974 Triumph Trident 750 triple. This bike has not been registered or ridden since 1984. It is a matching number bike, and the engine and frame numbers match the title. Surprisingly, the engine turns over freely with some compression. It was turned over freely when we pulled it out of storage, we did not have to break it loose. The bike rolls freely, tires hold air, and the transmission clicks thru all of the gears. It is cosmetically poor as can be seen in the pics. It is missing the chainguard, side covers, air box, and instruments. The tank is not original, and is from an early to mid 1960`s Triumph TR6 RS. It is a desirable tank with the parcel rack. The original tank is included, but will need extensive repair on the bottom from rust and a poorly done old patch job. The front fork tubes are extended, I would guess about six inches, and the bars are non- stock high rise style. Also the mufflers appear to be after market. The title is still in the name of the original owner of the bike. I received the bike in a package deal, but have been acquainted with owner and the bike since it was new. I serviced it in my shop in the late 70`s and early 80`s. I would guess that it has between 20 and 30 thousand miles since new if my memory serves correctly. The instruments have been long gone. We have not made any attempt at getting the bike running. We are liquidating it since it does not fit into our program of building BSA and Triumph twins. I would suggest that the bike needs a full restoration, and I believe it is a very solid basis for a resto, but I also believe it could be gotten running by going thru the carbs, ignition, possibly a valve job, and change of all fluids. At any rate , it is being offered at no reserve, and what I believe is a very fair starting price of $1250.00. The bike is available for pick up at Edgewater Fl., 20 miles south of Daytona. (Biketoberfest is coming up in a few weeks). I may be able to help with delivery in the U.S. for a reasonable charge.(50 cents per mile, minimum $250.00). I will be traveling from Florida to Idaho the end of this month. These bikes are becoming rare, and are getting very pricey in restored condition , so bid to win!!!! Due to shipping issues, I will open this up to U.S. bidders only. If a foreign bidder has a sincere interest, and is able to make his own shipping arrangements, he may message me, and I will open bidding to him if approved. Happy Bidding and Good Luck!!! All foreign bidders please note! You must contact me for approval before bidding. If I do not have a specific communication from you I will cancel your bid. There must be clear understanding of payment and shipping arrangements prior to bidding. I will not make foreign shipping arrangements, and will not release the bike until payent has cleared to the satisfaction of my bank.
