PLEASE CLICK ON THE LITTLE ARROW IN THE CENTER OF THE SCREEN ABOVE TO VIEW A VIDEO OF THIS VEHICLE. You may pause or review any part of the video using the controls on the screen. This comes to us from unclaimed storage. The previous owner put it in storage in 2007 and paid faithfully every month… and then disappeared. I purchased this from the storage facility and am offering it for sale here. This is located in Anaheim, California… close to Disneyland. It is still at the same storage facility where I bought it; I haven’t moved it. I haven’t checked it out mechanically or tried to start it. This is being sold as-is, for repair or restoration or parts. It’s been mistreated and neglected and it isn’t ready for use as it sits. All of my observations and descriptions here are based on me walking around and checking things out with just my limited knowledge. Generally speaking, I spend about 20 minutes with vehicles like this and most of that is taking photos… we remove the beer cans, sports equipment, adult magazines and divorce paperwork that seems to be in every one of these abandoned vehicles, then take our photos and move on. Please feel free to ask specific questions about anything that’s unclear or especially important to you. This looks like you might expect something to look that’s been sitting unused at a storage lot for several years… it’s dirty and hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. Keep in mind, at a storage facility I have no access to water for cleaning or electricity for vacuuming to make the car look any better. EXTERIOR CONDITION: Walking around the outside I see dents, repairs, dings and scratches here and there. The paint is faded, cracked and seems to be a little of every color including primer, but I think the car was originally blue judging by the floors inside. Please look closely at the photos and the video to see the general condition. There is rust repair poorly done down low on the quarter panel behind each rear wheel. There is rust on the rocker area in front of one rear wheel, and some slight rust on the rocker on one side. The leading edge of the hood also is rusted through. There is no rust around any window or cowl area. Thankfully the seats were left loose in the car so I could remove them and show the nice condition of the floors… they are in great shape, and any rust you see in the photos is surface oxidation only… the kind that wipes right off. Absolutely no holes or bubbling in the floors. The front wheels are turned to the right and the steering wheel is locked. I have no keys for this vehicle. The glass looks good all around. The metal window trim is missing from the front and back window, but a couple of pieces are inside the car although they are painted gold. The tires will roll, but that’s the only good thing I can say about them. They are cracked and old looking. The lock area for the trunk is damaged and the lock is missing. One tail light is cracked. The doors open and close ok, and the trunk opens and closes fine (although you’ll need to use a long screwdriver since there is no lock cylinder). Opening the hood is a little tricky, but is does open and close once you learn the right combination of pulling the lever, pulling the hood up, pushing it down, pulling the lever again, spinning around three times and swearing. INTERIOR CONDITION: The seats are not bolted down, and are shown in the photo next to the car. Both front seats, both rear lower cushions and the rear upper cushion are all present and in generally worn condition. The dash pad is cracked and split, but the gauge area looks ok. The radio is missing. The console has been removed and damaged probably beyond use. Wires hang from under the dash, and several other wires run along the floor to where some speakers and/or an amp probably used to be in the trunk. The headliner is reminiscent of a Tijuana taxi. The door panels look ok and would probably clean up… right now they are scratched, marred and dirty. Inside the trunk looks pretty good. There is rust scale on about 1/3 of the floor of the trunk but no holes and a good wipe down and vacuuming would probably make this look much better… not perfect, but better. MECHANICAL CONDITION: We checked the function of absolutely nothing in this vehicle. I can see that the engine looks complete and unmolested, and very original. The engine appears to be a 350 with an automatic trans, and that’s about as much as I know. The A/C compressor is missing. SUMMARY: There you have it… one beat but promising Firebird that you can name your price on… the best thing I can do is offer this for sale at a cheap opening bid with no reserve and let you decide what you think is a fair price. ABOUT THE TITLE, REGISTRATION AND PAPERWORK: As you know, this was abandoned at the storage facility by it’s previous owner. The storage facility applied to the California DMV for permission to sell the abandoned vehicle, the DMV granted permission, the storage facility went through the legal California Lien Sale process and sold the vehicle to me. I am selling the vehicle to you. I will provide the complete lien sale paperwork (from the storage facility to me) AND a Bill of Sale (from me to you) for this vehicle. The lien sale paperwork I will provide allows you to take title in your name within California. Buyers from other states or countries are welcome, but I cannot provide any more paperwork other than what is described here. If you have questions about how to register this vehicle in another state or country, consult someone who would know about this such as your local DMV, Automobile Club, or overseas vehicle transportation company. If you are not comfortable buying an AS-IS vehicle with lien sale paperwork for a price that you decide, then this auction is not for you. ABOUT INSPECTING THE VEHICLE BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS: This vehicle is available for your inspection just before the auction ends. In this case, that inspection time will be on Saturday, September 18th at 4:30pm. Drop me a note with your phone number if you’d like the address to meet me there at that time. ABOUT PICKING UP: This is located in Anaheim, California. You absolutely MUST pay and pick up on or before Wednesday September 29th. PLEASE GUYS… DO NOT MESS ME UP by bidding on something you may not be able to get moved by then! YOU must agree to remove the vehicle within the allotted time. I can meet you for pickup Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm… never on Sunday or Monday. IN SUMMARY: VEHICLE INSPECTION: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th, 4:30pm THIS AUCTIONS ENDS: MONDAY SEPTEMBER 20th, 6pm PAY AND PICK UP BY: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th, 6pm ABOUT PAYING: You may pay with cash when you pick up or via Paypal beforehand. I do not accept checks nor money orders of any type for vehicles. ABOUT THE PRICE: I run a no-foolin-around kind of auction on Ebay with a cheap opening price and no reserve. I don't want to trade for something you already have. I’m not interested in selling parts off of it… I’m selling the whole thing in one piece. There is never a Buy-it-Now price, and I don't end my auctions early. ABOUT BIDDING: Bidders with zero or very low feedback scores MUST EMAIL US when bidding to verify your bid... or your bid will be removed. As a way of screening bidders, you must have a Paypal account to bid on this item... you do not have to pay with Paypal; it's just a screening process. PLEASE BE SURE to have your finances in order before bidding. MAKE SURE YOU CAN PAY YOUR BID when you push that bid button. Ask your wife first, check your job stability, keep your children off the computer, call your mother and make sure she's healthy, don't drink and bid... I've heard it all already. We take a lot of time and effort to describe things properly and honestly... and we take your Ebay bid seriously, just as we take our obligation for an honest description seriously. Believe it or not, in one recent week we had FOUR DIFFERENT DEAD GRANDMAS which somehow made it impossible for FOUR DIFFERENT PEOPLE to pay for their items! QUESTIONS? Please feel free to ask any questions you may have but please first read the Frequently Asked Questions below, since your question may be answered here... of all the thousands of things we sell every year, vehicles generate the most questions... so we try to answer the most common ones below. ALL the questions I receive and my answers will be posted right here on the bottom of this page for all the world to see, so everyone has the same information... you may want to keep this in mind when you ask your questions, especially if you feel compelled to send your name or phone number or an embarrassing message. For example, if you write “This is Joe Smith. Will you end the auction early for $1.39 cash right now?”, we will publish the entire message and everyone will know you are attempting to bypass the Ebay auction and also that you are really cheap. ****************************************************************************************** FAQ Frequently asked questions about our vehicle auctions: ***** Q: I’m ridiculously cheap and I’d like to get this for much less than others are willing to pay you. I don’t want to bid against other bidders who may bid more than me and I’m hoping you are an inexperienced idiot. Do you have a Buy-it-Now price on this? Will you end the auction early? A: We do not offer Buy-it-Now prices or end any auctions early. We don’t have a reason or incentive to do so. ***** Q: What if I write and tell you I’d like to inspect this, just to get you to meet me there... and then I'll make an insulting cash offer. Would that be ok? A: Don’t go there. And see the section above about the scheduled inspection time for this vehicle. ***** Q: I don't need everything... I just want one piece. Can you sell me just the one piece I want? A: Now that’s just crazy. Why would we do that? ***** Q: What’s your phone number? Or can you call me so I can talk to you about this vehicle? A: Most of the time, people want to talk to us to see if we will bend the rules just for them. We won’t. However, if you really need to speak to us to verify who we are, clarify something important to you, or feel better about the sale in any way, send us a note and we’ll send you our number. ***** Q: Will you pick me up at the airport/train station/bus depot? A: No, we do not offer transportation services. ***** Q: What if I say I’m going to pay you cash when I pick it up, but then when I meet you for pick up I whip out a cashier’s check or other checklike item? A: In that case you will be leaving with nothing. I accept Paypal or cash only. **** Q: It’s the last hour of the auction. I have a list of about 143 questions I’d like answered immediately. Can I send these questions to you and expect answers to all my questions in a few milliseconds, since I expect you are hovering over the computer 24 hours a day? A: Not really. My days are very busy just like yours. If you have questions about the vehicle, you should send them to me in plenty of time for me to get my email, check out the question, get myself to the vehicle, find the proper answer, and get back to you. This can take a day or two. Questions asked late in the auction may not get answered for this reason. ***** Q: What’s your bottom line price? How much do you want for this thing? A: The price is not determined by me... it's all up to you. If you like what you see, just go ahead and bid whatever you want to pay. If you are the high bidder at the close of the auction, it's yours. This is a real, honest auction with no baloney. ***** Q: I’d like to take advantage of Ebay’s new feedback policy… you know, the one where the buyer can do whatever they want after winning the bid without any punishment or penalty for his actions, including things like disputing the bid price, asking for free bonus items, claiming I never saw this auction before in my life, playing the “death in the family” card, or disappearing into thin air. I may do all of the above. What are your thoughts? A: Yes, it’s an interesting new approach to business by Ebay… taking the concept of “The customer is always right” to an insane level. Anyway, win the bid & pay your bill, get your vehicle and enjoy… and everyone’s happy. ***** Q: What if I can’t pick it up within the time allowed? A: Then please do not bid. This must be paid and removed on time. I’m paying rent here, guys. ***** Q: I live in a far and distant land outside of California. Let’s say I bid and win the vehicle, then find out my local government requires some other sort of paperwork to register the vehicle here in my fair village. What happens then? Will you bend over backwards to help me and spend half of eternity working with me to get me the paperwork I need? A: We have been through this about a bazillion times. The paperwork included is authorized by the State of California, not by God himself… and allows the buyer to take title within California, not anywhere in the universe. If you need some other paperwork for where you live, sorry… but I can’t help. ***** Q: I like this and want to bid, but I am a bit afraid of bidding on a thing I haven’t seen in person. What if it’s a piece of crap? What about the seller… I don’t even know who you really are? How can I be sure you aren’t a scam artist? A: Actually, you have a lot of ways to be sure of things here. As far as the item, there are tons of pictures and even a video to show you all the important views and aspects of what you are considering buying. I have a little experience with selling vehicles on Ebay and try to take the best pictures I can based on what I think is important to the buyer. You can also come and take a look at this item, or hire an outside inspection service to come and check it out for you, or maybe you know a friend who lives in the area… and I’d be glad to meet them for your inspection. As far as the seller, you should always click on the number near the seller’s name before purchasing anything on Ebay… this will give you the feedback history for the seller based on previous customer’s experience, and will tell you how long they’ve been selling on Ebay. In my case, you can also click on the little “ME” icon near my name and see a picture of me and some of my helpers, my address, phone number and other information about who you are dealing with. I am a real person with a real address who you can contact and confirm anything that concerns you. ********************************************************
