SquareTrade © AP6.0 CLASSIC 1971 FORD F-250 Sport Custom Hi-Po 390 V-8 Automatic Selling my truck. I had plans to customize it, but it's not possible now. It has a built high performance 390 Cubic Inch V-8 with a re-built Automatic Transmission with shift kit, Doug Thorley headers, new Edelbrock carburetor, and lots more. The engine was built, and driven a couple thousand miles, just before the truck was stored for several years. Mostly it was used as a plumber's truck. It is registered till June 2011. It needs front brake pads, a new antenna, and a paint job, and you will have a nice classic truck for work or play. This truck is straight and has never had an accident for as far back as I have researched. It has an RV cam, Edelbrock intake, built automatic transmission with shift kit, "Cobra LeMans" valve covers, and more. I put in new spark plugs, points, condenser, drained the fuel lines and tank and added some fresh gas, gas filter, new Edelbrock carburetor, and more. I adjusted the timing by ear since I can't find my timing light or my dwell meter for the points, so that's all it needs to finish the tune-up. It runs good and smooth, but sometimes back fires if you step on the gas really fast before it warms up. I think choke on the new carburetor needs adjusting to fix that minor problem. Once the choke is adjusted, and the timing and dwell are set, it should be an excellent high performance runner. The truck has three locking tool boxes, but I only have the key for the largest one. The other two are unlocked, and you can easily replace the locks for a few dollars each. It also has a plumber's rack, as this truck was previously owned by a plumber. It has a set of air horns that play "Dixie". The truck has dual gas tanks, with a lever next to the drivers seat on the floor to change tanks. I have a new fuel pump for it that I can't install because I'm disabled. I get an odor of gas sometimes when I drive it, so it might have an old fuel line that needs replacing. It needs new front brakes and pulls to the left when pressed on. It has a new seat cover over the original seat that I have not fastened down yet. In the bed are a set of front end disc brake sets that will go to the new owner in case they want to convert it. They are a bit rusted from the weather, but could possibly be cleaned up and used to upgrade the front brakes. The body has some surface rust, and I think the paint is the original two-tone blue and white. The antenna rod is missing, so reception on the radio isn't good, but the cassette player works perfect. It has a bullet hole in the middle of the passenger door from the previous owner tossing his rifle onto the seat. The interior dome light cover is missing. but the light works. The drivers side arm rest is loose and torn. There are no major dents in the truck, and would be a great restoration project, or it could be used as a work truck, or daily driver, or turn it into a classic show truck. I drive it twice a week to keep the battery charged, and have not had any problems. The tires are old, but still usable. I would recommend replacing them soon though. They are very hard and do not make for a very smooth ride after sitting to long. The more you drive it, the smoother they get. The engine sounds pretty radical, with a lot of power. I'm sure you can drive it home just as it is as long as you're careful when braking. If you have any questions, please send them through the auction message page. If you'd like to come see the truck, and drive it, give me a call: David @ 818-477-2557 any time after 11am Pacific time. Selling as-is with no reserve. If you use "Buy it now", you must pay full amount with PayPal. If you win the auction, you can pay the full mount with PayPal, or at least a $500 deposit with PayPal within 24 hours, and the balance with cash only, within 48 hours after that, unless other arrangements are made before you bid. Call David at 818-477-2557 to arrange pickup of the truck. I will be happy to hold the truck for a week or so as long as full payment is made within 48 hours from end of auction. If you need to fly in to get the truck, I can pick you up at the Burbank, California Airport. I think it's called the Bob Hope Airport. Call for details. Thank you, David NADA.com lists this truck as a retail value of: Low = $7,350, Average = $10,350, High = $14,675 unlocked, and you can easily replace the locks. It also has a plumber's rack, as this truck was previously owned by a plumber. It has a set of air horns that play "Dixie", as the previous owner was from the south. The truck has dual gas tanks, with a switch next to the drivers seat on the floor. I have a new fuel pump for it that I can't install because I'm disabled. The front brakes need new pads. It has a new seat cover over the original seat. In the bed are a set of front end disc brake sets that will go to the new owner. They came off a 1971 or so truck. The body has surface rust, and I think the paint is the original two-tone blue and white. The antenna rod is missing, so reception on the radio isn't good, but the cassette player works perfect. It has a bullet hole in the middle of the passenger door from an accident. The interior dome light is missing the cover. The drivers side arm rest is loose and torn.
