1971 Mercedes euro 350sl with factory 4-speed. One of only 58 4-speed cars imported into the U.S in 1971 according to the sl registry. To the best of my knowledge this model was only made in 71-72 with the smaller 3.5 V8 engine. This car has spent the last several years in Texas but does have some issues. The biggest being the drivers side floor area. It needs replacement or partial welding work. The overall uni-body is in respectable condition for a 39 year old auto. Mechanically the car car is in good shape. Engine has been rebuilt at some point. It is very strong but has a high idle issue because of of vacuum leaks related to the area around some of the injectors. I was also told that the idle might be due to air leaks associated with the vacuum system. It has had a recent clutch rebuild and was driven on a local basis in the Dallas area. Transmission functions fine but the linkage does need a minor bushing installed to alleviate shifter play. I have the bushing. Car comes with the factory removable hardtop which is in good condition including the headliner. Also included are two convertible tops with frames, a extra 4-speed trans, a CD rhom and receipts for the clutch work and parts. As you can see the interior needs attention but these parts are readily available in either used or new condition. If you're looking for a very rear 107 chassis car this would be the model to have.
