For sale is this rare and beautiful 1941 Buick Special 2 Door Sedanette, Model 46S. This is the first year for the Buick fastbacks. The car has the Original straight 8 engine with optional dual carbs and 3 speed transmission. I was told the mileage (89,000) is true. This is a very nice, fun driver quality car. It is not a show car but you can drive it anywhere and look good doing it. It runs, shifts and drives Great and needs very little mechanically. The engine runs very well and starts right up. Tranny shifts perfect. It has all new brakes. About the only thing it will need is some exhaust work. There are a couple holes in the pipes. The car still has the original 6 volt system. Most everything electric in the car works great except the clock and the gas gauge. The turn signals, heater, lighter and vacuum wipers all work. The car needs tires. One of the wide whites is new. The rest are old and very dry rotted. The body is very solid. There has been some minor bodywork done over the years. I was told, anything that was done was done with lead. The paint was done about 10 or 12 years ago. It is not a show quality job but it's shiny and presentable. It's a good 10 footer. All in all, it's still a real head turner and it draws a lot of attention wherever it goes. The stainless trim is in beautiful condition with only a couple small dings in a couple pieces. The chrome pot metal (grille, headlight, taillight doors, etc.) is pitted but still shiny. The trunk lid is very solid and clean. The hood is very solid and works perfect, both ways. The interior is mostly original except the carpet. The original seats are under aftermarket covers. Not sure of the condition of the original covers. The headliner and door panels have never been done and have stains. The headliner has one hole. The dash chrome is in beautiful condition with very little pitting. All of the windows roll down fine but the passenger door and vent windows are cracked. It's flat glass, easily replaced. The rest of the glass is clean and clear. The frame and undercarriage is clean and mostly solid as well. There is a little rust here and there but it's not bad for a 69 year old car. The trunk floor was patched. The car has been registered and driven every summer for years. I have a clean, current, transferrable NY State registration for the car. As I said, this is a driver quality car. If you're looking for a show car, please keep looking. But, if you're looking for a fun car that drives great, turns heads and you're not afraid to drive to a cruise night or restaurant or even the mall then you just found it.
