Vehicle Detail
Greetings! So... The transacting of this motorcycle comes with a bill of sale only... There is no title... Our uncle came into possession of this unit in a purchase which included a dozen other motorcycles some 20 years ago...We have checked the vehicle identification number with the California Highway Patrol inspection division, as well as the California DMV, and the are no issues or encumbrances... In fact, there is no record of this unit ever having been registered or titled either in California, or anywhere in the U.S.... That being said, we're not going to fiddle around with trailing it to the local CHP field office to be identified for titling and pay the associated fees etc. etc. etc., we're simply going to let the next guy do it... The upside of things as we see them... The frame and engine are matching numbers... Also, this is the first production year of the Earles front end... When you depress the kick starter, the travel is smooth, complete, and shows adequate compression... For the last 20 years it has been kept indoors...This unit seems to be mostly complete, save for perhaps some of the small bits... The handle bars and the electrical harness appear to be new... The front fender seems fairly clean and straight... Likewise the Earles front end... There are three seats included. A standanrd bench seat, although in terrible condition, a fat-ass touring bench seat in fair condition, as well as a new Pegusa solo seat in a box. Headers and silencers are present, although detached. Also included is a period, albeit a bit funky, low rise faring, as well as a single piece crash bar... Ultimately, there really is great potential... The downside of things as we see them...The rear fender is a mess, and will take a real pro to straighten it out... As mentioned, some of the smaller bits are missing. Switches, cables, and rubber thingies etc. etc. etc... The most notable being the carburetor air tubes. The carbs, although detached and in a box, are present, just not the tubes... Steering head, and wheel bearings are a bit stiff from sitting. It'll take 2 people to push it up a ramp...Shipping will not be possible. Just too messy and convoluted since there are boxes and separates... "Pick up" is the only way... To reiterate, this is definitely a restoration candidate. It's a project for someone who has the enthusiasm, know how, and resources to bring it back to life... So... I guess whether that's an upside or a downside, is all relative... And as a gentle reminder, PLEASE REFRAIN from bidding if you feel that you may be unable to close the deal, thanks! This sale / auction goes forward AS / IS, WHERE/ IS, with no warranties or guarantees either expressed or implied... The shipping and / or transport is to be the sole responsibility of the buyer, however, we will be happy to assist in the coordination and / or logistics.. For interested parties with two or less positive feedback, please contact us in advance of bidding... All others with two or less positive feedback will be deleted and blocked... Thanks for looking, and have a nice day!...
