1967 Jeep cj5 trail rig/crawler for sale. History: Jeep spent most of its life in California. Previous owner bought it in the early 90's and built it into what it is today. The jeep wheeled Fordyce Creek Trail and the Rubicon extensively while in California. Previous owner was involved in Seirra Trek, and the jeep has participant stickers on the dash from probably 5-6 Seirra Treks during the 90's. Previous owner got moved to Hampton Roads area within the last ten years, and the jeep sat in his garage and in the driveway until I bought it 4-5 months ago. Jeep wasn't running when I got it, but is now running nicely and drives down the road fine. Very little rust due to spending its life in California and super cool vintage build. This thing is blast to drive, and I wheeled it on Potts mountain and it did quite well. The following lists explain how it was built/what it has, and what it needs to be driven to the trails, wheeled, and driven home reliably. Stock axle housings with hand painted American flag diff covers upgraded steering linkages S10 power steering box and pump 4.88 gears front and rear Limited slip in the rear offset Dana 44, w/ coarse spline axle shafts and stock drum brakes Auto locker in front (I think it is a detroit) Line lock for rear brakes Warn hubs, gear oil filled cv housing spring under leaf setup with around 3 inches of lift 1" body lift steering box skid plate Warn XD9000i winch and controller, works great! 33x12.5r15 mud terrains on steel wheels full size spare custom rear rack that holds a highlift, jerry cans and a cooler Hot water shower setup with water pump and heat exchanger under the hood (haven't verified that pump works) soft top with roll-up side windows and half doors CB Stereo with cd player, and waterproof soundbar mounted on rear of cage 6 point cage low back old school woven cloth seats with lapbelts Body is very solid, as is the frame. Some surface rust but no rot and no bondo that I am aware of Buick 225 V6 with Edelbrock carb and electronic ignition Electric fuel pump controlled by toggle switch Electric push fan on front of radiator Electric pull fan on rear, fans are controlled independently, only one runs under normal conditions Motor runs nice and cool and idles well Brand new battery from NAPA Headers and side pipes that dump right under the rear of the door opening SM420 w/ super low granny gear. Syncro for 2nd is not perfect, shifting 1-2 is easy, 3-2 not so easy. Dana 18 transfercase with stock gear set This is a super solid, old jeep that is ready to wheel the way it sits, crawls really nicely and could be driven to the trails with a little tlc. The following is what it will need to be driven safely on the road and reliably on the trails: Gas tank cleaned out (On our 10 mile Potts trip we cleaned fuel filter 4-5 times) Rear brake shoes (put new wheel cylinders in but had the wrong shoes so didn't replace at the time) Carb cleaned/floats adjusted (doesn't like to idle on steep hills, or when way off camber) Could use some new shocks as it has a decent amount of body roll without the sway bar. Wheels with less backspacing (for wheeling purposes only, front tires rub leafs slightly at full lock) Leaks various fluids like any old jeep. Nothing that prevents it from being driven, just will make some marks on your garage floor. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Jeep is located in Eastern Virginia.
