Vehicle Detail

1973 Honda CB450 DOHC. This bike is offered for sale after sitting for a couple months in our showroom. The bike is astounding! We purchased this bike a couple years ago. When we bought it the stock paint was faded, the engine didnt run, tires were shot and basically in barn find condition. Once we got it home, we brought it into the shop, got it running great and did a basic clean up. We sold it locally soon after that to guy that loved motorcycles (this was #5 in his collection). He kept the bike for about 2 years, riding it back and forth to town and to a few vintage bike shows. But as things go in life, it was time for him to downsize some of his collection and offered it back to us. When we bought it back I told him that if we didn't sell it in one month that we were going to restore it. Well, we didn't sell it and this is the result of the restoration! Of course we had to start by tearing the bike down. We did a basic tune up on it (setting the points, timing, valve lash, plugs and a battery) and then stripped all the cases off and polished them. The frame was in great shape with only a couple scratches and scuffs so besides a good cleaning we left it alone. The front end was rebuilt with new bearings, new tubes and new fork seals and oil. The fork tubes were polished. The handlebars are in great shape along with all the controls. We installed new mirrors and levers. The rest of the bike was just dirty (the previous owner lived on a gravel road) so alot of elbow grease and time was taken to get it to this point. A couple years ago we sold a 1972 Honda CB450 to a customer but he wanted it painted Candy Ruby Red (just like a 1970). We liked the color so much that we painted ours the same color! New decals were installed and along with the tank trim. From what I can see, the only issue is a slight ripple in the chrome on the front fender and some very minor pitting in a few places. Nothing that is noticeable without really looking hard at it. Check out our video of the bike running down the road! https://youtu.be/eUs6UTozl3U The bike starts, runs and stops as it should and needs nothing. Please ask any questions prior to bidding! Thanks and good luck!
