American made automobiles from model year 1942 are rare as this was the shortest year of production in Detroit's history. This was the last year of production before automobile manufacturing in the USA was stopped due to World War II. This body style was one year only. This is a flathead six with AUTOMATIC transmission. Runs and drives excellent. Overall the car is in very good condition. It is not a perfect show car but it is a clean, solid, driver. It was repainted the original color black in 1998. The paint shows well. The chrome is in very good condition. The interior is original. There is a small rip on the top of the front bench seat and some wear on the driver's side front door panel. The original headliner is perfect. The body is completely solid. All of the body panels are straight with excellent fit. There are no signs of any accidents or rust repair. It has all of the original floorpans which are solid with no patch panels. This is a solid original car. The only negatives to speak of are the radio is missing and the passenger side rear door glass is cracked. I have the new glass for it and it comes with the sale.
