Here is a nice Taco 22 mini bike with the original Steens frame stamped with a serial number, this is not a remake it is an original Steens Taco frame. The frame number is 70P123. The bike starts easily, runs and drives very nicely. The engine is a vintage Power Products AH-58, an engine that was offered as an option by Steen for the earlier Taco mini bikes as seen on the Steen Taco website. Engine has new piston rings, crankshaft roller bearings, new crank seals, all new gaskets and new original Tillotson carb HL-166B. The carb is easily adjusted should it need to be, as it has a screw for low speed and another one for high speed. It has a very nice vintage velocity stack with a fine screen inside the stack also comes with an air filter to fit the carb, if the bike will be ridden a lot. Engine starts easily and runs great, see video below. Bike takes off quick and gains speed fast. This is more a toy for an adult and not really a kid's mini bike. We chose to paint the frame metallic gold as the earlier models with the Power Products Engine were this color as can be seen on the Taco Steen website. The mini bike was painted with automotive paint that included hardener in the paint so the paint is durable. It also has new Hunt Wild grips. Motorcycle parts, antique, vintage, historic. Body & Frame. It has a new custom PMR aluminum adjustable motor plate that allows the engine to be moved front to back and side to side. At the time I purchased this engine for this project I was told the engine might be NOS. I took it apart and did not see any carbon, the piston was clean on top as if it had never been ran or ran for a very minimal amount of time. It look liked the engine had little to no use on it. We replaced the old worn out 47 year old parts with new such as; seat, Taco wheels, bearings, fork neck bushings, grips, throttle, footpeg and brake rubber, rear sprocket and chain. As well as the axles and bearings. The taco chain cover is made of heavy duty fiberglass, most likely a vintage part and modified to clear the engine exhaust. The tires and wheels are new; the front tire is a Carlisle and rear is a Chin Shin, tubes are new as well. A nice example of a 47 year old vintage mini bike. eBay requires we select an option for a title. As we all know, these bike came with a cash register receipt and not a title. So, no title. The best part is they pick up the bike our location and deliver right to your door. Of course there are many other options available as well, including one we just ran across Quad Express. Of course you are always welcome to jump into your truck and pick up the bike from us in Tucson!
