Thanks for viewing this auction, We have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to auction off this 1981 Mercedes 380sl with only 66918 kms on it. A major part of the sale will be donated to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation the car is in operating condition and is suitable for a collector or someone who loves these cars. The car was sitting for a couple years in the donors garage and will require a tune up and inspection before hitting the road, I personally drove the car a few 1000 feet in front of my business and can verify the engine and transmission along with brakes are in operating condition. CONDITIONThe car is what you would expect from a 1981 vehicle, minor dents and scrapes along with paint imperfections, However there are a few things that need to be listed, someone at some point decided to strap the front of the car down, they opened hood and ran strap or rope across and bent the top of each fender( look at pictures) the rear window is starting to de- laminate very slightly in right upper rear corner, there is a new aftermarket catalytic converter on vehicle, the left rear quarter fender is showing signs of rust very slightly under paint, the paint overall condition is not great, some of the clear has come off at the rear in front of trunk, the left rear rubber bumper end has fallen off but it is with the car. The battery will require a full charge, the tires are weather cracked from sitting. The transmission bell housing has a screen like casting over the torque converter and a few of the fins are broke out, the floor and lines are in great shape and the flex lines look they have been replaced recently.The interior is requiring some maintenance and needs little things like chrome caps and the arm rest looked at, but I believe all the parts are in the car.The donor has asked that the vehicle be auctioned to the highest bidder and a zero dollar reserve, I am a fully licenced dealer, If your the successful high bidder you will receive a crisp new ownership ,a full vehicle disclosure from UCDA and a full used car bill of sale.all and any Canadian sales are subject to a 13% hst tax as you are purchasing the vehicle in Ontario.
