Today we are offering at auction this nicely done Triumph 650 4 speed Bobber with a low reserve. Frame: TR6SRDU15993Engine: BD40412 TR6R Bike starts easily on the first kick as seen in the video below, runs great and has a lot of torque. All gears shift nicely. Bike drives nice and is a lot of fun to ride. All the machine work was done by a well known Triumph Machinist that does top notch work. Cylinder bore is 0.30 over with a new JCC piston and Hastings Rings. We also had the head redone with a new valve job.; new guides, Rowe valves, seats cut and new springs. The engine may be may be late 1969 or 1970. Engine was built from the sludge trap up and there is only test time on the bike, just to make sure all was as it should be and all adjustments made to make this a true performer. The timing was set with a strobe light. Bike has a nice healthy Joe Hunt mag, no battery. I have ran all types of British ignition systems and never had any issues with a Mag; trouble free. As bike only has test time it should still be ridden gently at first to help break in the new top end. Bike has a nice Lucas Vintage Headlight with Lucas Lense. High beam indicator works, it also has a nice Lucas taillight with plate lense on bottom and it is upgraded to a halogen bulb. Brake light also works with lever on handlebars. Paint is white ivory pearl with copper strip. The tank had no dents or body filler prior to painting. The tank is Caswell sealed on the inside. The pipes are 1 3/4 with vintage New Webco perforated exhaust tips welded on, the holes have been enlarged mainly on the bottoms. There is a mounting bracket on bottom side hooked to engine mount bolt for function and a clean look. The bike has a new spun aluminum Moon oil tank. All fluids were drained and refilled with fresh after tune and test time (engine, primary gear box oils). As this is a magento bike there is no ignition switch, just a kill button on handlebars. A lot went into the build of this bike as seen by the list after the video. I imagine I may have forgotten some items, but you get a very good picture of the work that has gone into the build of this beautiful vintage British machine. Remember, this is a 48 year old British machine and not a newer bike so some people may have to get use to the process of starting the bike, shifting, etc. but once you have it down it is easy. A beautiful rolling work of art, still keeping the vintage Triumph style and period correct look and amazing piece of 48+ year old British iron.
