1971 Honda Cub 70

This 1971 Honda 70, was last ridden in 1975. The lady who owned it, wiped out on it twice and put it away, for good, until now. The Honda Shop drained the fuel tank, cleaned the carb, cleaned and adjusted the clutch assembly, put in a new battery, spark plug, fresh gas, some air in the tires, and rode it down the street at 30 mph. It starts up easily, does not smoke, idles smoothly has has a little more zoom than I would expect for this old gal. AND... the brakes work fine. But.... it was down twice, so here are the issues; The front fender is cracked. The front rim is bent, but the forks are straight, and the tube still holds air! There are rust spots on the paint.The seat has gray paint on it and a few tears. Headlamp not working, may just need a new lamp. Tail light / brake light works, but lens is broken on the bottom.The end of the front brake hand lever is broken off. Missing the left side cover that goes around the key switch. right side cover has a broken knob. Rear directional signals are broken.The paint is worn off the motor, and the front flasher switch is disconnected. On the POSITIVE side...The side stand and center stand are both here and working well. No ignition key, but the switch is in the on position. So we have to remove the fuse, to keep the battery from discharging. Connect fuse, choke, kick, ride. ALSO ..ELECTRIC START and NEW BATTERY. A new key switch is an easy one. The frame joints are not rusted as you can see in the last two photos.The knee guard fairing is excellent, no cracks. Suspension is great. Muffler and pipe are solid. Rusty but solid. All original stickers are still on the bike, including selling Dealer & VIN. I do not have the registration for this bike. Sold with a bill of sale. It is pre-1972, so the winning bidder can do a VIN number rubbing or digital photo, or whatever your state requires, and easily register it. PLEASE take a good long look at all the photos, before bidding. New rear wheel rim included. (not other spare parts, in photo, there for a CA100) Complete front wheel, new, on ebay, from Thailand, for $70 plus shipping. This is a pick up only auction.
