2004 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8L I4 16V Automatic 4 Door Sedan Gray 271600 Miles Kelley Blue Book declared my vehicle as FAIR with a market value between 900 and about $2500 dollars This car was originally my father in law's and was given to my wife and I as a gift in 2006 so it is technically a 1 family car. It has been a great car but my need for a car in better shape that qualifies as an UberX vehicle means its service is no longer needed in our family. The car was a daily driver and I made my living as a pizza delivery driver so it is in good shape mechanically but the interior and exterior are a little rough as keeping it immaculate visually was not high on my list of priorities. Bringing up 2 boys in car seats over the years was not as kind on the rear seats and interior as it could have been. Small crack in front windshield that was repaired with resin around 2007. The car runs great and is drive able as is but has the following issues: Body: Dents on the front driver's quarter panel and corner of driver's side rear bumper. Some rust and bubbled paint on drivers side rear quarter. Driver's side mirror was knocked off and needs to be replaced. Air Conditioning: needs at minimum the compressor clutch replaced. Possible that it needs a compressor but it was blowing cold air intermittently which leads me to believe the clutch was going bad and the AC was working when it was engaged until the clutch gave out. Refrigerant was replaced in summer 2015 prior to issues with compressor clutch. Blower motor for heater AC buzzes and will eventually need to be replaced. Easy to access under glove compartment. Brakes and Suspension: Rear brakes were replaced for the 1st time at 185,000 miles. Needs front brake pads and rotors. Shocks or struts were never replaced. Needs A frame bushings and possibly ball joints. Car tracks straight when hands are removed from wheel. Tires have about 25% of tread and are unmatched. Left rear wheel missing hub cap. Alternator and battery replaced in Summer of 2015. Exhaust: no problems but car still has original exhaust system. Uses some oil but runs and idles smooth. Transmission shifts smooth with no slippage or other issues. AM/FM CD Cassette radio works but cassette function is broken. Right rear speaker may be blown. Steering wheel surface is rubbing off. Power windows and locks fully functional. Cruise control works. Interior is somewhat rough as I worked out of this car for 10 years delivering pizza and eating on the go. 2 children have trashed the back seats over the last 9 years. See pictures. I tried to clean and rented a carpet cleaner to try to clean it up but there are still stains in the upholstery. See pictures. The pros to buying this vehicle is that it was treated well mechanically as I relied on it for my income. It would continue to serve admirably as a reliable pizza delivery vehicle. Fixing the AC could be delayed till next spring as cooler fall weather and winter sets in. The cons are mainly aesthetic. A lot can happen to the interior and exterior in 271600 miles of driving. Some maintenance work will be required as spelled out above. The important thing is that the engine runs smooth and the transmission is functioning properly. If properly taken care of this car should give many more miles of reliable service. As mentioned the KBB on this in fair condition runs from 975 to around 1875.
