The '74 Corvette was a milestone for a number of reasons, some positive and some not so positive. The transition to the federally mandated 5- mph bumpers was complete with the '74 model. This was the era of the "steel girder" bumper on basically every American car built that year through to the early '80's. The '74 Corvette is unique in that it was the only car to beautifully incorporate a smooth urethane cover on the front and rear that seamlessly blended with the body. It was and still is to this day a truly beautiful Corvette! This was also the last year for the big block engine and the last year before catalytic converters, as low lead fuel was being used and unleaded was to follow in '75, as well as stricter smog laws; the days of the high compression engines were history. You actually had three engine choices in '74; the aforementioned 454ci/270hp big block, the base 350ci/195hp small block and in its second year of production the engine installed in this car, the L-82 350ci/250hp small block; which was also the best choice for both performance and handling. Couple that to the M-21 close ratio 4-speed, and you had a really great Corvette!

The '74 presented here is a real triple threat! Not only is it an L-82 4-speed, which was a very rare combo in '74, it's also a two top Convertible! And it's loaded with options, including factory A/C, Custom Interior, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Tilt/Tele Steering Wheel, both tops (hard and soft) and more! The car was restored a number of years ago, but still looks, runs and drives great! Comes with the original key, Owner's Manual and a binder full of restoration receipts and photos. You just don't see '74's like this one anymore.
