Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1974 Corvette project car. Originally Ontario Orange. It has the optional 250HP L-82 350 and T-400 automatic. The odometer reads 100,368. It still retains its original, born with, matching numbers engine and transmission. The title is still in the original owners name. The title is from 1974 and still says "new vehicle". The title is clear with no leinholders. The car has ben stripped of all its paint. Its now in bare fiberglass so there is nothing hidden by paint. The fiberglass body is in good shape. All bonding strips are intact. There is only one area in the left front corner where there is a small repair. I took a close up picture which is in the link below. Both the nose piece and the rear bumper are aftermarket fiberglass pieces from Eckler's. The rear bumper is a later 80-82 style with the integral spoiler The frame is in excellent shape with no signs of rust or rot. The interior is all original. It does show some wear but its complete and virtually undisturbed. The original AM/FM radio is still in the dash. All the glass is in good shape and the windows roll up and down as they should. All the parts that were taken off the car are boxed up- headlight assemblies, hood latches, radiator, condenser radiator support, etc are all accounted for. Ive gone through all the parts, laid them out on a moving blanket and took pictures and close ups of everything. Again, see the link below. The only item that I can tell is missing is the original air cleaner assembly. I cant guarantee every nut, bolt washer or screw is accounted for, but it looks as though 99% is there. Included are some NOS and new aftermarket odds and ends. The fan shroud is pictured but be advised that it is broken and will need to be repaired. As you can see, the car doesn't run. The engine is free and spins. The oil looks good. I can see no reason why the engine wouldn't run if you supplied it with some spark and some fuel. The transmission fluid smells good and isn't burnt. Again, I don't see any reason why the trans wouldn't be in good working order either. Master cylinder is off and naturally the car has no working brake pedal. The engine wiring harnesses and forward lamp harness are intact and look to be in good, useable condition with no splices or damage. Spare tire is missing. Everything from the windshield back seems to be untouched for the most part. The car looks to have aftermarket stainless exhaust installed at some point. I don't think it would take much to get this in drivable condition. It would definitely make an excellent winter project for someone. Click on this link to see additional pictures of the car and parts---> http://s482.photobucket.com/user/mr-trishield/library/1974%20Corvette?sort=2&page=1 Im no Corvette expert. So if there was something I didn't mention, you need additional pictures emailed to you, or if there is something you need clarification on, please ask! I will try and answer all questions to the best of my ability. Buying a car sight unseen is never a good idea and I don't recommend it. If your within driving distance, I would encourage you to come look at the car in person and go over all the parts. Or have a club member or a fellow forum member that's local to me come look at it on your behalf. The car is located on the south shore of Long Island, NY approx. 55 miles east of NYC. Im very close to LI MacArthur Airport. This is a NO RESERVE auction so bid to win! But please!! Only bid if you have the money readily available and are going to follow through with the purchase. Shipping and transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. The car will need to be trailered. I will lend a hand getting the car loaded if you need. A $200 non refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of end of auction. Full payment due within 10 days of auction close. Car to be picked up within a reasonable amount of time. One to two weeks is reasonable. If you need some time, please email me to discuss potential arraignments The car is being sold on an open New York State title. Thanks and good luck!
