Vehicle Detail

One of the most, if not the most desirable model of Porsche's 914, this is an 2.0 liter LE model built by Porsche in 1974 to celebrate their Can Am racing success. Produced in very limited numbers the LE cars were offered in either Ivory (L80E) known as "Popsicle" or as in this case Black (LO41) "Bumblebee." Solid body colors with contrasting negative Porsche stripes and painted alloy wheels, bumpers and rocker panels, only 1000 of these cars were built, 500 of each color, and these limited run cars were produced over a short period of time, some three months from mid February to late April of 1974 and fall within VIN range 4742914348 to 4742916764 This 914 is VIN 4742915094 was produced in March 1974 and ticks all of the boxes for the LE model, paint code LO41, no sail panel trim (no holes there ever either) correct center console and gauges, the front spoiler is wrong but the straps from the original are still attached to the front suspension mounts. All 5 of the correct factory wheels are present as is the toolkit and still in its black plastic bag. The jack is there and secured by the proper straps in the rear compartment. Front and rear sway bars are there, also the signature light gray headlight covers, black plastic model badges and windshield washer nozzles. The windows are tinted in blue The body of the 914 is absolutely straight and exhibits no rust or accident damage, looking underneath there is no sign of repair anywhere, the floors are finished in the original factory paint and underseal, they will even polish to a shine. The battery tray is excellent and there is no sign of corrosion in the feared "Hell Hole" beneath. Doors fit properly, clunk shut and have the proper gaps. Although the previous owner painted the car in white luckily it wasn't a thorough job, the inside of the front and rear trunks are still factory black, as are the undersides of both lids, which should make it a pretty straight forward job to return it to its factory color scheme, he also chromed the original painted bumpers as you can see, probably easier to get some painted ones. The motor has been completely rebuilt by the previous owner to 2.1 liter specs and it has certainly given the car more pep, new pistons and barrels as well as rebuilt heads and new bearings, the original injection is retained and works extremely well, it starts easily and makes no smoke, the gearbox shift through the gate without issue. Mileage reads 40k but is unknown Here is a link to an album of pictures, please look at the detailed shots Click here This is an excellent reference site by Jeff Bowlsby which details the LE cars and their unique features Jeff's site click here I am a licensed California car dealer, buyers in California are subject to state taxes and registration fees, car is sold as is where is, if you have any questions you are welcome to call me on 925 789 9825On Nov-08-15 at 17:37:55 PST, seller added the following information: Engine number : GA 013151 The original rear trunk sound deadening pad is in one piece, it is pictured
