I'm putting my stunning 1986 Porsche 944 base coupe up on the auction block. I have to many vehicles and storage fee's are getting out of control. This car is easily a 9.5 out of 10 I bought this car from a very good friend who is a Porsche enthusiest and actually races these 944's all over the country. He bought it from the original owner. The car looks just as nice as it did the day it drove off the lot from Dallas Porsche 29 years ago. Rather than go over everything that works, I'll just mention the couple items that keep this car from being a solid 10.... First, the small digital clock has failed, this is common on these rare survivors. Second, the windshield washer fluid pick up tube needs replaced, minor fix, thirdly the drivers seat is worn on the side where the driver would get in and out. I did get a bid to repair this and it was under $250. Finally the front bumper shocks are starting to lose their compression so these could be replaced or left as is. Everything else on this car works as it should and as intended by Porsche engineers. Anything and everything that was and is required to be maintained has been. Timing belt, fluids, clutch, tires, shocks, struts, battery, sunroof works properly, seals properly, etc.... This car runs and drives perfect. All rubber seals and trim are still supple, no dry rot. It is solid, no shakes or shimmies... car drives straight if you let go of the steering wheel while driving. A/C works great and blows ice cold. Heater works perfectly as well. I replaced the boring phone dial wheels with the much nicer staggerd FUCH wheels, a stock option on these cars. Transmission and motor are still super strong. This car still gets over 30 mpg on the highway. No cracks on dash, no cracks on windshield. Has the original Blapunkt radio head unit in it and original speakers, might want to replace these though, they don't sound great after 29 years,, but still work and all original. The only part I replaced that is not stock is the tailpipe and muffler, but I think I kept the original and it might be in storage if the winning bidder would like to have it, I can try to find it. Finally, this car is kept in storage. I drive it maybe once a month to keep everything working properly. Winning bidder will also recieve a CoverKing car cover for the vehicle,, yes I still cover it while in enclosed storage. This is a full retail car. I'm not a dealer. Any dealers interested in the car I respectfully ask in advance not to ask me to sell this vehicle for a wholesale price with your intentions to sell it at full retail. When you change the tiiming belt you HAVE to do all these other items for the complete timing belt serviceAlso replaced all the rubber, coolant/heater hoses, resealed oil cooler, brake fluid flush, coolant system flush, new clutch slave, resealed cam housing.All work performed by a PCA Club Racer, 944 SP1 with extensive knowledge of 944 Porsche All work performed just over a year ago and less than 2500 miles since service.
