Vehicle Detail
F250 Super Duty. 92k actual miles. A beast of a truck. Cranks, runs, drives, and stops very well. Has a Holley carb rather than fuel injection, so the gas mileage is not terrible. I drove the truck to Detroit & back last year (about 1200 miles) and just drove it to Knoxville and back (about 300 miles) pulling a camper. We pull a cattle trailer with it once in a while.. New Holley carb, just replaced rear axle bearings, which was my fault. A seal was leaking, and I ignored it until it was too late. Cost me $1500.00 to replace the axle housing with a used one, and replace the axles, seals and bearings. New ignition module. New windshield & seal. New fan clutch. I have owned the truck about 4 years. We recently bought a smaller camper that we can pull with an SUV, so I just don't need the truck. Here's the story with the truck; the previous owner somehow caught the engine on fire. Burned most of the hoses up, some of the wiring, paint off the hood, heater box, etc. I bought the truck, stripped all the burned stuff, stripped all the a/c stuff, took off the heater box, stripped all the pollution control stuff, & etc. Replaced the belts, heater hoses, plug wires, fan shroud, carburetor, & brake master cylinder. Changed the oil & coolant & been driving it ever since. Drives & shifts good. 4x4 works ok although it's a little tricky to get the lever in the right place sometimes. Surprisingly, the cruise control still works. Lights & gauges all work. Tires are pretty good. Has a bed liner in it, so the bed is good. Passed NC safety inspection last year. Here is the major stuff that I am aware of; brakes are spongy when the pedal is first pushed. No a/c, of course, and the heater is on warm all the time unless I disconnect the hoses. Window out of the camper top on one side. Some significant rust bubbles along the bottom of the cab on both sides. The pictures make the paint look better than it actually is. Here's what I will do; make your best offer, and if I accept it, when you arrive to pick up the truck if you find anything IMPORTANT that I missed or failed to describe, I will refund your deposit, no questions asked. I can't do better than that. That means significant mechanical issues, not cosmetic or minor stuff. However, once the truck leaves my driveway, it is strictly as-is, where-is, with no warranty whatsoever. It's an old truck, so keep your expectations realistic. I want a $500.00 deposit by verified PayPal within 24 hours of the sale. Verified PayPal means that your PayPal account actually has money in it, and not funded by a credit card. The balance is due within 7 more days, and may be by cash, check, or bank to bank transfer. I can store the truck for up to 30 days beyond that. If you have 10 or less feedback, you must contact me and express your interest before making an offer, or your offer will be ignored. Please ask questions via the "ask the seller a question" form provided. Thanks for your interest, and I hope someone can put this old beast to good use.
