Vehicle Detail
Beautiful 1970 Triumph Bonneville with new correct factory three tone paint. Engine was rebuilt with standard pistons and all seals and bearings in the gearbox were replaced. The instruments are new as is the seat and exhaust headers, all control cables,. I bought on ebay last November but now have to sell to pay for cancer treatments. NO RESERVE!!! Clear CA title. The bike was really nice when I got it but I did the following to make it a great daily driver: New tires and tubes, new fork seals, new fork gaiters, new battery, new original handlebars, new headlight/horn switch, all systems work, there are no oil or gas leaks, starts on the first kick. I have had two TR6 of this vintage and I prefer the single carb and that is why I bought it. Someone in the past removed the troublesome twin carbs and installed the single for easier starting and better driveability but the VIN number is for a Bonneville and the engine and frame numbers match. This Triumph gives you all you would expect from a well sorted vintage Triumph in excellent shape. I know of nothing it needs. It had 50 miles on it when I bought it and I took it to the North Texas Norton Owner's Association rally in April in Leakey, TX where my son and I put 250 miles on it along with my vintage BMW. No problems as we blasted around the twisted roads. Hate to sell but hospital expenses and long recovery prevent me from enjoying it. This bike was restored to be a daily driver not a trailer queen. Sounds good and is very satisfying if you like vintage Triumphs. The 1970 model was the epitome of this marque. On Jun-23-15 at 10:55:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Engine and frame number CD 44581 T120R , also matches title. At NTNOA rally I had a mechanic from Big D Cycle, longtime Triumph dealer, listen to the engine, he thought it sounds fine.
