1988 PORSCHE 944 Item Description Here is my son's beloved 1988 Porsche 944 that is now in need of someone to restore or to race it and drop a corvette LS1 engine in it. Last summer, I was driving beautiful car on the highway when I noticed a ticking sound that started to get louder. I pulled to the nearest gas station to have the car towed to my shop. The secondary oil sending unit had failed which prevented oil to get to the top of the engine. The car idled fine but as soon as you put it in gear, there is no power but it moves. I didn't want the mechanic to dismantle the engine because I did not have the money to fix the problem. To say the least, my son was VERY upset with me while he was in college. I told him we will save up the money to fix it later or drop a corvette LS1 engine. But we decided to sell her because my son has to pay for school and I don't have the room to keep it in the garage since I have other cars on the driveway. This car barely has any rust on it. The interior is in good condition with only the driver side seat is wearing at the bolster. The transmission is in good condition and shifted good. The previous owner we bought it from must have taken care of the engine well, when you look underneath and wipe the grime it is clean. The wheels are from a Porsche boxster and are very clean, not sure why he had snows on them. The car would need to be repainted but barely has any rust. The speedo stop working almost a year ago so I was guestimating 140k ish? When the car was running, we enjoyed it and it was well balanced.
