1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500 ConvertibleHere is a very sharp and clean 1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500 convertible. This car has had an older restoration and it still presents well and can be driven with confidence. The original motor runs strong (I was told that the motor was rebuilt at the 56,000 mile mark) and the 4 speed manual transmission shifts as it should. Everything works including the blinkers, heater, wipers and emergency brake (horn works but is disconnected at the horn as the switch as it is in the "on" position constantly and needs a new switch). It has a newer Pioneer AM/FM Stereo with cassette and under dash speakers. The interior is in very nice shape and was re-done at some point I am guessing as the seats look too nice to be original. The was repainted in the past. The paint still looks very good and shines up nice! However it does have its share of nicks and touch ups and the hood has tiny "pimples" in the paint when you look up close (hard to see in the pictures). It is a rust free car with the exception of one small paint bubble forming in front of the front passengers tire (see picture). The under carriage and floors are clean and solid. The trunk area is also very clean and solid. The top (manual) good shape with the exception of a small pinch cut near the front passengers side (really not an issue). Also comes with the convertible top boot and a tonneau cover (goes over the interior when the top is down, see picture) and service manual. Radial tires look to have about 50% tread left. This car turns heads and is a blast to drive!
