1952 Chevy 3100 5-Window pickupAs the photos show, this is a very nice example of a classic Chevy truck. The 5 window cab gives exceptional visibility and I personally think the lines are the best of any truck, past or present.She runs very well. Starts instantly, idles nicely and has that smooth torque of the straight six. This is not the original engine, but the updated 235 with pressure oiling. The casting Number indicates 1954, I’m sure it has been rebuilt, showing excellent compression readings all across and has full oil pressure. The “Fenton” split exhaust headers feed into a true dual exhaust system. The steering is tight and straight, the brakes are good with new hydraulic lines, stopping straight and smooth. 4 speed (granny) transmission shifts smoothly although the throwout bearing is starting to make a little noise. Converted to 12 volt.Brand new tires and new brake lines and a new fuel tank.The cab has been fully lined with “hush-mat” for soundproofing. There is rust in the lower cab corners, as is common with these, and repair pieces are readily available.The oil, temp, amps, and fuel gauges all work but the speedo does not, the needle is missing and the cable has been disconnected with the odometer reading 47,400 miles.The heater is present, but not connected. The vacuum powered wipers do not function. Lights, horn, turn signals all work. She even has the original Glass tailight lenses.Windows crank up and down smoothly, but the wing window units are rusted and cracked and need replacing. The metal trim around the windows needs replacing. Doors close solidly and have new weatherstripping. The seat is functional, but in need of upholstery. Also included are two brand new chrome bumpers, still in the wrapping, a new in the box fuel pump and an oil filter cartridge. I can even throw in the canopy she is parked under. Valid CA registration through Feb. 2015. This truck is for sale locally and auction could be cancelled at any time I am selling this because I have realized I don’t have the energy to do her up right and I am a little too tall to drive her comfortably. She deserves a new owner who will restore her to her former glory or maybe upgrade her with all the modern comforts. I can deliver to a local shipper or possibly deliver within 100 miles (for a fee) once payment has cleared.
