Vehicle Detail

1980 Porsche 911SC Targa A local bay Area California car complete with its correct California blue license plates front and rear 113,000 miles from new, the last owner kept this car for 10 years, it has always been garage kept and is in lovely original condition. The Dashboard so often split from the sun is crack free and laser straight, the instruments are clear and bright and all work as they should. When you open the door the smell of fresh leather immediately hits you, the front seats having been professionally recovered in the correct Porsche leather, the covers are tight and properly done. The rest of the interior is super clean, carpets are lovely and you would think that the car had done under fifty thousand mile judging by their condition alone. The motor is very tight, it fires up without smoke or noise, a flick of the key and the pressure needle climbs right up the gauge and shows a very healthy engine. I have just had a valve adjust and oil and filter change dome so this car is ready to go. The motor is dry and suffers no oil leaks at all, the exhaust system is excellent and all smog equipment is in place. The transmission was rebuilt at approx 77k miles and remains tight and problem free, shifting up and down the gate there is no grinding or baulking. Paintwork is mainly original, the right rear quarter has been painted and possibly the right front fender, the rest of the car is measures on a paint meter at 4.5-5.5 average, reflecting factory paint, even the unleaded fuel sticker is still on top of the left front fender. There are, as you would expect stone chips to the front hood and bumper The panel fit is generally excellent, the drivers door hinge pin has a very slight amount of drop, that's only to be expected on a car of this age, there is a small scrape on the lower left of the front valence, but it is really unnoticeable. Opening the engine lid, all stickers are present including the emissions sticker on the inside of the engine lid. Inside the front trunk, the carpets are clean and nice, remove them and you see that both inner fenders are perfect, all of the bolts for the fenders appear original and untouched. The front battery area is excellent, no rust here nor on the underside. Jacking points are rock solid and like the floors, rust free and straight. All of the underside nuts, bolts and fittings retain their original zinc plated finish, please look at the pics of the inner fenders. The AC compressor is not connected and needs to be replaced In the original Porsche wallet there is an owners handbook, a bunch of receipts spanning some 10 years. The jack is present as is the tool roll. The targa top has been completely refurbished with new top cover, headliner and rubber seals, it folds easily into the trunk as it should. All in all, this is a really lovely 911SC, I have been dealing in Porsche 911 models since 1989 and this is one of the best of the SC cars I have ever had, there are many opinions out there but mine is that the SC is a much nicer car than the 3.2 Carrera, I much prefer the way the motor revs so freely, I like the power band of the engine. I am a licensed California car dealer, I would welcome any reasonable inspection before auctions end, I am happy to show and demonstrate the car to any potential buyer. As a dealer I must charge sales tax for any vehicle I sell in the state of California, that includes any vehicle that is picked up here. In order to avoid sales tax you must have the car trucked out of the state by a bonded transportation service or have the car shipped out to a foreign country, I can arrange this and will be happy to assist. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 925 789 9825 This car is located in Pleasanton California On Aug-04-14 at 13:56:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Engine number 6403052
