Vehicle Detail
Some bidders are not seeing all the photos. I use my own photo service so they are larger and shown below. Please scroll all the way down. I am very careful about my descriptions having gone on many wild goose chases to see bikes and cars that turned out to be in far less condition than advertised. I am sure many of you have been in the same boat so I will do my utmost to describe this so that there are NO disappointments or surprises. As found, circa 1960 (I have inquiries out about the year) BMW R60 as a project for making stock or a café racer. It has matching serial numbers on the head stock plate and engine 623566. Has the fenders with no rust. Front has a small ding in it. Frame is straight and shows no indication of ever being in an accident. Missing headlight (No real guess on mileage but had to put something down), seat and gas tank and handlebars and controls. The rest appears to be there. Found in a barn covered up so no rust on it. Looks like original owner started to dissemble it for restoration and lost interest along with the parts mentioned. Transmission is unbolted from engine but appears to be complete. Not sure if engine is free because not connected to trans but guarantee it is all there. I was going to café it but too any projects and not enough time. One of the alloy rims has an edge ding but can be straightened. Listing with NO reserve and auction will end Friday afternoon East Coast time so please keep track. No title but can obtain one if needed for under $100.00 in New Hampshire and takes about 3 weeks. Please feel free to contact me thru eBay with any questions you may have. I will also answer any questions by phone if you wish. Please note that I use my own picture service so you get larger and higher quality photos and I took many to show every aspect of this bike so you get no unwanted surprises. And unlike many of the listings on eBay, I have gone to great lengths to fully disclose any problems. I cannot crate and buyer is responsible for shipping or can pick up here. Can hire local to deliver to Forward Air in Boston for an extra $100.00 if that helps although ground transport is quite a bit cheaper. Motorcycle is sold as is as shown with no warrienties expressed or implied but I stand behind my description 100%. Buyer must pay $500.00 deposit thru paypal within 1 day and balance within 7 days by cash in person or certified or personal check but payment must clear before being shipped. I will sell overseas but new owner is responsible for all aspects of shipping. Bike located in Nashua, New Hampshire. I will be happy to answer any questions and phone number is available if you have any questions or by email. On Jun-30-14 at 03:42:33 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: I just received the following from the BMW Group Archive. The BMW R 60/2 VIN 623566 was manufactured on February 08th, 1962 and delivered on February 13th, 1962 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat. On Jul-02-14 at 09:19:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Please Note The Following: No breaks or cracks in engine or transmission and no heavy corrosion. Transmission has shifter and kick start lever. No broken fins on cylinders. No cracks, breaks or repairs to frame or any parts of the suspension. Biggie is the frame number stamped on the neck is the same as the headstock tag and the engine. Triple matching numbers!!!!! Yeah for the new owner. Carbs are Bing 1/24/125 D and 1/24/126 D and are complete except for cables. If I parted this out it would have totaled way more then current bid. Don't miss out. It is solid with great potential.
