1968 Triumph TR250 Convertible, one of only 8400 cars built, the TR250 was a one year only production model.This auction is for an Original California Black Plate Car, its been in California its whole life, its rust free and is rare even amongst TR250 in that it is Overdrive equipped. This car is an incredibly original survivor car that has never been restored, it is all original and as it was delivered by the dealer back in 1968, it has had at some stage a repaint in the correct original shade of Jasmin Yellow, a color that is more Ivory than an actual yellow. The paint job is older and of pretty poor quality, it has many chips and there is overspray on various rubbers. When you lift the front hood the engine compartment appears all original and its superb, the inner panels show no sign of either rust or accident damage, all original stickers are present, as is the small original "pink slip " title BodyworkThe body is super straight, panel gaps are all excellent, the doors open and close perfectly, no dropping or issues. The panels are straight with no bubble rust or damage, just a few small dings commensurate with a used car. Floor pans are in original finish showing their Jasmine yellow paint, no rust or holes. Trunk floor is original and clean. Engine compartment, as stated above is original and super nice. Rubber trim is as you would expect from a car that has lived in Northern California for 46 years, its generally perished, although the screen rubber has just been replaced. MechanicalsThe motor starts easily, holds excellent oil pressure, makes no smoke and there is no undue noise, the gears shift easily, no grinding through the synchs, the overdrive works as it should.The braking system has recently been overhauled and a new master cylinder has been fitted. InteriorThe interior is all original with correct carpets and panels, it is older and displays its age accordingly, the dash top is cracked, wood face is crazed and varnish in places is lifting, the seats which again are original have various splits, driver and passenger foot carpets are missing, door panels have splits. The original toneau cover, hood bag and factory supplied radio are included.
