Here we have a really cool 66 chevy camper van that we just got in recently. It runs great and I've been having a blast driving it around. Mechanically I can find nothing wrong with it. It starts easily and runs very smooth. The previous owner installed a new master cylinder and wheel cylinders in the recent past. There is also a new muffler and tailpipe. As you can see in the pics the tires are in excellent condition as are the chrome reverse wheels. The engine is a 250 six cylinder that has had the carb rebuilt within the last year. The tranny is a three speed on the column that shifts effortlessly. This thing is a blast to drive !!! I have been very impressed by how tight everything is. I expected a whole lot of rattles and wind noise but after several hundred miles of cruising around town it has really impressed me with how tight and quiet it is. I don't know if the camper top is factory or aftermarket but it is very cool. There is a cool old Mark IV air conditioner on the roof but the previous owner stated that the fan motor quit on it years ago.The previous owner used this in his cleaning business and unfortunately they removed and disposed of the sink, stove, table and other camping gear. I am amazed at how easy it is to raise and lower the top. All you do is grab the two handles in the middle and push up. IT folds up and collapses easily and there are just a couple of latches to secure it. It easily goes up and down in less than 30 seconds. Very cool and very well designed. I don't know how tall it is inside exactly but I am six foot tall and can stand up with headroom left over. All of the glass is in good shape with no cracks, not even the huge windshield. The windows roll up and down easily. All of the gauges work as does the speedometer and odometer.Overall I would describe it as a very mechanically sound vehicle needing a cosmetic restoration. As you can see in the pics the paint is faded and there are small amounts of rust on the lower portion of the rocker panels. Not bad but worth noting. There is also a dent above the passengers side headlight that you can see in the pics. Although it is a cool old van it is still that, an old van so it is being sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied.I JUST PUT IT UP ON THE LIFT TO CHECK OUT THE FLOORS AND MOUNTING POINTS AND THEY ARE ROCK SOLID. The only rust I could find was on the drivers side inner rocker. Not bad and easily fixed at this point.
