Vehicle Detail
Offered for your consideration is this 1966 Triumph T100R Tiger. This Southern California bike being sold with a clear title. Frame and Engine Numbers match although the "S" in both the Frame and Engine Numbers is missing from the vin number on the old california title that dates back to 1973, not sure why this is but can be easIly corrected. The title states 1967 because that is the first year sold. Recently purchased as part of a deal with another bike, I do not have space to keep them both so am selling this one. It was customized into a street legal desert sled back in 1972 and was last registered in 1973. It had not been ran since back then, after cleaning out the carburetor and some fresh plugs the bike fired right up albeit with a plume of smoke, the bike will be sold with all fresh fluids as well as new points and condensers. Looking down the plug holes I can see that there are fresh looking .020 Pistons fitted, I am unaware of engine work performed back then although it appears by looking at the Pistons to have have at least a top end but who knows, always best to open them up and take a look for peace of mind. Original clean Dunlop Rims, the front one has a ding. Trials Tires, Dunlop 400-18 on the rear is heavily cracked on the walls and the Pirelli 350-19 is ok. Oversize rear Sprocket. The previous owner bypassed the battery and it runs off capacitor, the toggle switch mounted under the seat controls the ignition and lights. The Harness itself looks excellent with no signs of any bodge it fixes. Footrest are of the folding type. The custom paint has some chips on both fenders and tank an well as some age cracking on the tank top. Mostly original hardware throughout although much of this has a coating of light rust. Fork action is good as is the Swing Arm. The Drive Chain is new. Lucas Head and Tail lights are working as is the Horn, cool Webco Points cover. Was not fitted with a Speedometer although the Drive is present, original mileage unknown. Seat offers a very nice profile and provides good comfort, neat period tuck and roll. Most of the chrome on the bike shines brightly aside from some rust spots here and there. Very cool Bud Ekins style Exhaust Pipes look excellent. The only obvious damage that I can see is at one time it threw a drive chain resulting in some case damage, a common problem on Triumph Unit Twins. An easy repair when the engine is apart for overhaul, the hole caused by the damage has no effect to the running of the bike, it is simply in an area over the drive chain, the damage has had a tidy temporary fix. Overall the motorcycle presents itself very nicely and has great potential either to use as is or restore to like new. I have only had the bike running and have not tested it on the road. Being sold as is with no warranties, I have tried to give an honest representation. Please take the time to study the pictures below as these show the bike very clearly. Please email with any questions that you have. I can also be reached by phone at 323 327 6169, calls during pst business hours only please. Located in North East Los Angeles.
